Does Hoof Size Matter for a Pony?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 7:50 pm

The BMI is good for a general idea. Sure, it's going to be different for body-builders, and in some other cases, which is why %body fat is also a relevant datapoint. It's still enough to give a decent ballpark.

I finally made 6 feet the other day (before I was 5'11 and a half). It made my day, I'm telling you. As for women, I wouldn't date someone under 5 foot and again, I wouldn't date someone visibly taller than me (by an inch or so). My own height or shorter is fine, got no preference either way.

Psssht I'm still answering....

I'm 5'1" and wish I were taller. :( When you see clothes on websites it generally now says the models size and height. They're generally about 5'7-8" which means the stuff will be a whole half foot different on me. :(

Dawwwww...

Be glad that you don't bash your head on things and are at a perfect hug height :D

Just shy of 6 feet. Happy with how I am.

Why are Dutch people so tall?

I'm about 5'11 and I'm fine with that. My GF is 5'6. If I could change my height, I'd go for 6'7 so I could tower over you underlings. I would date a girl taller than me because, to be honest, I find that kind of hot. :hubbahubba:

Well being tall doesn't mean you have good genetics. For most people it's a problem as they age. Look at the Methusaleh Gene; it is only found it short people, and allows them to live for much longer than taller people. Also, taller people generally don't live past 75- they're bodies can't handle maintaining themselves very well after that due to the amount of force the heart must use to push blood through the body, and how much the cells have to work at reproducing constantly.
On the outside, height may seem an advantage, but being short truly is great. :)
My family all live past 95!
If you don't believe me... why do smaller dogs live so much longer than their bigger counterparts? The 10 year difference in lifespan for them translates to roughly 30 years for humans.

I don't want to live until I'm 95, all useless and decrepit. 70-75 is a fine innings for me. I'll take an earlier death over being an ewok in human form.

Not like you have a choice :D
I want to live long enough to see something incredibly great happen, like the beginning of use of nanobotic machines to treat various illnesses, which will likely happen around 2080.
It's truly amazing to meet someone over 100. I had the priviledge a few weeks ago. She's perfectly fine and still drives. So much experience she has...

I might have gotten a bit carried away there.

Haha
But in all seriousness, it's truly amazing the advantages height has. It seems being tall and bigger served as a better defense mechanism, but in this modern world, I'd rather possess the Methusaleh gene mutation.

Wow... Apparently Ashkenazi Jews live very long... Mixed with the Mutation... And genetic background... Now I know why my family lives so long.

Can't speak to the being a guy/height thing, but I will say I don't want to live to be 90+ either, at least not how it typically results in for this day and age. Too much cellular decay. It'd be nice to have a natural 500 year life span, tho. ;)

I'm 5"7. I've (hopefully) still got a few years of growing left to do. I do hope thats not my final height, but I don't worry about it to much.
I find that shorter girls are usually nicer than taller ones.

I'm 175 too but here in France it's considered a normal (if unimpressive) height.
I'm happy with my height, I'm not tall but it's never been an issue and public transport, seats, atm's etc are all designed to accomodate people around my height.

This being the internet, I'm aware that most of you are 6' 5+

I actually really am 6'5... and I like it to be honest, except when I bump my head on stuff.
