Thank you for seeing the point of this, I'm having to defend myself from homophobe accusations now

Well I either dress as Azura or Nocturnal whilst playing skyrim, for RP purposes, so I'm a pretty open-minded guy.

I felt it was quite rude to assume what ones sixual preference is. And I'm role playing an easily offended Ork so this was inevitable. Lots of NPC's have been killed for a lot smaller things. Saying "hay, watch it" being the main reason

As stated earlier, pre-modern era, homosixuality was "normal". Married men routinely had partners of both sixes, etc. Modelled after those cultures, it would not make sense for your Orc to freak any more or less than he would freak if a woman liked him. That's on you, not your PC. Someone hitting on you is NOT a reflection of YOUR preferences, but THEIRS. That's a VERY important distinction that many, many, many straight people, usually males, usually young, fail to realize. He doesn't necessarily THINK you're gay as much as he HOPES you're gay. In OUR world, that still is, unfortunately, a HUGE risk for a gay man to take sometimes. Point being, if a man hits on me, I admire his courage, and let him know that, and politely decline any "offers". Would that we lived in a world where this conversation didn't even need to take place.

Its not assuming......its asking to find out. Otherwise how might he know?

The same way people know in real life. You can usually tell by the persons behaviour. Being a 6ft Ork and killing people is the wrong behaviour

Dont have to be gay to love Onmund.
Hmm Onmund.
Now I really have to ask someone to make a questline where Merari goes around beating people with a banhammer.

You can usually tell by the persons behaviour.

Actually, sometimes you can and sometimes you absolutely can't.

And even if the "clear" behavior doesn't show, is it still so bad to ask?

Bottom line, your Orc character is a moron.

So why did your Orc agree to get married instead of simply turning the individual down?

Also correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need to initiate flirtatiousness dialogue?( ie. "Are you interested in me?")

Yes but after they comment on my clothing, I never got married before this so I didn't know men would hit on you. My Ork agreed to the marriage because he intended on killing him because he was offended

6ft Orks are the pinnacle of manly hood in Skyrim. Out of all the races they are the ones I would guess to be less likely to be gay

A "6ft Ork" in a wedding dress does tend to lead to comments. Damn Radiant AI!

For some reason about half of the people I went to school with we're gay and they all fell into this stereotype. Obviously not all are like this but it's a good teller

Really? Okay, to understand exactly how AWFUL some of the stuff being said here is, substitute Gay with Jewish. Oh, sheds a whole new light on it, doesn't it?

Who's getting offended? I'm more or less getting the feeling that OP is criticizing it from a gameplay perspective. (ie. "Bethesda shouldn't have wrote it like this because it doesn't make any sense for characters to do this.")

6ft Orks are the pinnacle of manly hood in Skyrim.

Pinnacle of something....

Manliness isn't the term I would use though.

But in orc villages only the chief can have children. So there's probably more man-on-man action in an orc village then a man or mer village.

How old are you?

You might like to know that I once knew a hairdresser that even some gay men assumed was a flaming queen who was 100% straight.

Substitute it with Jewish? He assumed I was Jewish, told me he liked me so I beat his head in. That substitution doesn't really work

I'm gay AND jewish. Actually, I'm not jewish...or gay. But my point remains valid.

Honestly I read it as "I almost accidently married a man and my big dumb orc went all incredible hulk on him when he realized what was going on"

OP is just role-playing a moronic orc and choose to share it. Where in his post is he criticizing it?

Can we please get away from the fact that he was gay. Let's change it to I was wearing armour and he thought I was a woman so I bashed his head in.
There, now nobody can get offended by a post that was not offensive in the first place
