Dwemer machine in dead guy's basemant?

Seems one theory here is to use Fire/Frost...has anyone tried casting the master level Fire and Frost spells back-to-back?

I feel like i'm posting way too much so will shut up after this - I promise!

If you read Hrodulf's Journal, part 3 says "there is a calling from the depths; a rumble drone that sings to me at night". So, i'd assume whatever is calling him only happens at night? Part 6 says "it is as if a great machine reverberates beneath me". Maybe not the 'machine' we can see then? Part 13 says "how can I make bjorn hear what I have heard? (etc)" which could mean we can't hear it? Part 23 would imply he is either going mad or that someone (Dwemer?) are talking to him. Part 31 sums it up...

EDIT: Note that you can't move his journal but you can take it. Random but still lol.

People will get fed up with me though ;) I love archaeology like this. Even if there is nothing here, it's still fun.

Alright, from farther back it looks like it's a blocked doorway. Either that moves or it vanishes when something is met.

Kinda reminds me of a quest-locked barrier.

Do you, or anyone else here for that matter, know what I mean by Royal Engineers cement?

Afraid not, that's one term I have not heard before.

I tried fire spells, hitting it with a dwarven sword I found in the basemant, and hitting it with steam from that helmet, but still nothing :/

I'm not sure what the official term is for it. I'm from South-East England and, until recently, volunteered at a fort called Amherst. One of the tunnel areas here was blocked up. We only found it by mistake. And so we started digging. Eventually we came to a tunnel complex. It turns out it was part of a hospital used during WWII. There are a set of stairs that go up to what is now a council building. The stairs themselves are actually sealed off from the third or fourth step. They have been blocked off with "Royal Engineers cement". That is what the REs told us when they had a look - they have a barracks next door :D

RE cement is used to quickly seal off an area. Now, I doubt Beth would put that much thought into their game, but I wanted to share my passion with this theory on here :D Now.... be nice ;)

Cudgel doesn't work
Dual wield frost and fire doesn't work
Keening doesn't work
Bend Will doesn't work
Fire/Frost breath doesn't work
Map ends behind the machine.

I don't think anything is there. I think it was an unfinished quest...

I have one more thing to try then i'm going to say there's nothing there. I may message Beth or someone if I get round to it, but beyond that, it's either unfinished or was just a WYSIWYG.

I know it won't work, but I have to satisfy by own curiosity. Someone mentioned on here about books etc being near the door. The only related thing I could find was a copy of 'Dwarves V2'. I'm now getting myself a full set of Dwarven armour and trying that. As I said, I know it won't change a thing, but I need to see it myself. If that makes sense.

Thinking the same thing. I'd put the steam helmet on as well. I also read the books
