And yeah...
OP, do you really think that over 10mil players who have invested enormous amounts of money will jump from WoW to TES:O just because of the name?
You make me my nipbles lol!
First of all, TES is not the biggest name out there, OK?
WC is pretty damn big too!
Second of all, at least for it seems that everything TES:O will have, Blizzard can simply implement into WoW if it seems like a good idea.
If a new MMO wishes to compete with WoW, it has to be awesome in so many ways everyone in Blizzard will start to cry how perfect that game was!
And tbh, I always thought that TES is only franchise which can do that, but ZO decided simply not to do it.
For starters, TES:O doesn't even look like TES!
Second reason is combat (it's in my sig, but I'll say it again; ZO should make it action oriented as much as possible).
Also, ZO could at least try making TES:O be a 1st person MMO and have no classes.
But oh well, in the end of the day, as long as TES:O doesn't negatively influence TES in any way, I kinda don't care, really.
Am a bit sad because a great opportunity has slipped by, but it doesn't matter since I know that sooner or later (probably later) someone will make that game which will simply blew our minds (it would be really funny if that someone ends up being Blizzard, lol).

WoW was a streamlined social phenomena (major traditional press coverage) in its time. It basically took all of the things (well) known to the geeks of the time and made it mainstream accessible...

You'll not beat that... unless you revolutionize / evolutionize the formula.

Otherwise, people will just revert to WoW for their friends and characters.

Edit: Unless blizzard (never capitalize a company, they're not (/should not be legally) on par with people..!) steals your revolution and streamline it, that is. LoL.

BTW. I do see the sarcasm of this thread, but the above is made sincerely.

We are entering off topic now , but I'll bite. Yes I agree only WoW can kill WoW. But, so far, the game that has the most chance of dwindling its fanbase is definitely GW2.

OP supports real cash transactions? It's like NX Cash, but it's Zen cash. Zen does not approve. No siree.

No, it won't.

Nothing will kill WoW but time.

trying TSW beta this weekend, but from the looks of it you can probably add it to that list lol.

So many clunky games with good ideas, but horrible execution. Is it really that hard to top a 2004 games responsiveness/tightness?

As much as I'd love this game to succeed, this opinion is probably more naive than of those who think the game will automatically fail after reading one issue of GameInformer.

We simply need to see more.

The only thing TESO will kill is players hearts and love for the franchise.

No MMO is going to kill WoW. Not even an ESO game "done right", like some on the forums would like to believe.

If you let one bad game ruin a franchise then your player base is soft and shallow. svck it up, buttercup, this game isn't for you.

Elder scrolls online can even have Cash Shops, wear you can buy new spells and ability's with REAL MONEY or GOLD both rewarding the working player or the casually player,

Good lord, where do we even start. Pay to win is a good thing and TESO will "kill wow". This has to be sarcasm right?

Still, I'm really curious to see what project Copernicus by 38 Studios will look like, though!
KoA:R had some really neat ideas and could well transfer to a MMO format.

KoA:R is a shallow souless game that simply copies God of War combat. You can play the game from start to finish, and never die, only pressing fast attack.

that type of unbalance, shallow nonsense wouldn't last 1 month in a MMO pay to play model.

Elder scrolls is going to destroy WoW,pvp real heroics and new awesome gameplay PLUS it is elder scrolls. Elder scrolls online can even have Cash Shops, wear you can buy new spells and ability's with REAL MONEY or GOLD both rewarding the working player or the casually player,I can not wait for this game.

Good [censored] god.. how many times am I going to follow the development of an MMO and hear this?

You guys should really know how generic your comments are.. for real.

Look nothing about Elder scrolls online I see isn't going to attract enough to challenge WoW.

Many people like have claimed the next game to be the WoWkiller and failed.

Well SWTOR Didn't kill WOW, GW2 didn't kill WOW, and Runescape is still going strong lol :P . . . I don't want it to kill WOW cause then all their fans will come over to TES and I rather play with people who will play because it's a TES game not a MMO game. I dislike those people that come on the game for like 3 months beat everything and say how boring and trash the game on forums.

I mean depends on the price really. Glad I got a job for my school so I can pay for this game. Thing I am dreading most is the 6 hour download time lol :P

A pay-to-win would never kill WoW. And as many have said, nothing can kill WoW, not even Blizzard... unless they like do something ridiculous (increase prices to $100/month or turn off the servers). Anyways, thanks for the laugh OP.

I really hope TESO won't have a cash shop (unless it ends up being free-to-play). If they want to earn money, they should earn it the honest way. I'm definitely not getting TESO if it's cash shop dependent.
