I hear Will Smith is starring in a remake of "Oldboy"... The sad thing is way more people are gonna see that than the original korean movie.

No, this cannot be.

I hope they dont totally botch it.

I LOVED the original

I don't think any actor could really play the role as a true Elder Scrolls fan without actually at least playing Morrowing and Oblivion, Plus readin The Inferinal City
But, I'd pick Harrison Ford, 'cause he's my favorite actor.

I thought I'd go with a little bit of youth as the lead:)

I LOVED the original

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1321511/

info is only available with IMDB pro, but if you look at the message boards on the bottom, it looks like it's gonna be Spielberg directing, starring Will Smith...

I don't think i'm gonna see it.

if i were gonna see it, I feel like Aronofsky would be the best director for it. He could change it enough to make it his own but keep the same gruesome nature of the film

It should remain as a game. Some of my favorite games have been ruined they turned into movies. (Ex: Doom and streetfighter)

The guy from Valhalla rising would play Dovahkiin because he's basically already done it in Valhalla rising... Definately not a hollywood movie.

i can think of some really impressive visuals about a live action morrowind movie, with a image of vivec and some dunmers flying to the ministry of truth and the temple would be a beaultifull cover, now.... skyrim...if they do a [censored] holywood movie... thats has dwemer dungeons in it... i will buy this movie....

James Franco maybe, definitely someone who can act and do a believable nordic accent. Jason Statham is like the Aussie actor James Worthington, he plays the same character with the same accent in every movie. As for the rest of the choices, none of them would be believable in the role.

Karl Urban maybe? He did a good Eomer in LOTR, and is the new Judge Dredd (coming out next year).

Tried to picture it, but I couldn't see James Franco taking down a dragon...

I don't think videogame movies period are a good idea. Squeezing an 8-12 hour plot into a 90 minute frame results in a trainwreck.

Unless it was in multiple parts like LOTR.

If (And I can't stress "if" enough) an Elder Scrolls movie were to be made, it should be a completely original story. They should not make a movie based specifically on one game. Hollywood has shown time after time that they are utterly incapable of maintaining the essence of a story (or game) when adapting it to film. Have you ever seen the Mario Brothers movie? Utter garbage. What about the Street Fighter movie? I nearly ripped out my own eyes and ate them after seeing that atrocity.

If you read The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum and then watch the films starring Matt Damon, you won't see any relation between the books and the films. All three kill characters that survive in the books while introducing characters that aren't in them, and the second and third films don't even take place in the right countries.

Hollywood should never, ever be trusted to make an Elder Scrolls movie.

I thought John Cena was a wrestler, not an actor...

I thought the same thing about The Rock Dwayne Johnson. It seems Hollywood can't tell the difference.

But they rarely are. I just don't think a movie can do any part of this series justice.

Yeah, Street Fighter (movie) really shouldn't have been made. And this would need to be a multi-part Avatar budget film to be done right.

Hollywood has shown time after time that they are utterly incapable of maintaining the essence of a story (or game) when adapting it to film.

Not to mention it'd canonize who the Hero of Skyrim/Dragonborn is. Bethesda has gone to length to make sure the past games' main characters are never canonized, because it's your character. Was the Nerevarine a male dark elf warrior, a female argonian mage, a male breton thief, or ...? Yes, the Nerevarine was all of them.

If they could get a competent film crew to work on it, there's plenty in Tamriel's recorded history that would make for a splendid movie. A story around the Selective's attempt to reform Akatosh from the elvish god he was based on into a mannish one, and the resulting 1008-year dragon break, would be pretty cool. And trippy.

There's like 4 people on that list that you could call actors.
The rest are probably the worst actors ever.

To the point, movies based on games svck bad.
