Elder Scrolls V: The Movie

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2011 10:59 pm

Could this be an epic movie as well as a game? I can't think of too many successful movies made from games, but if done right, this could be one. So we need to start off with a lead actor, and then maybe go into who is playing the Blade who guides him, Esbern.

Any other reasonable suggestions besides those listed above can be added later..

I really don't think a movie could successfully capture the essence of an Elder Scrolls game. I remember the same topic coming up for Morrowind and Oblivion and for the most part it isn't well accepted.

If they did make a movie, I would want a female lead :P

Even though there shouldn't be a movie, the actor should be Vin Diesel.
Even though Will Smith is my favorite actor, I cannot imagine him throwing a magic snowball out of hands..
Come to think of it neither can I think Vin Diesel doing that..

This. None of those options are even close to "actors".

While the idea is interesting...and I'd go see it for sure...I'd be warry.

I'm serious. Like so serious that I'm speaking from experience with these things. Look at my avatar. Look at it. Remember a Dragonball Z live action movie not to long ago? Remember it?

Well...I'll vote no just so I don't feel so sad...DBZ getting a solid punch to the face hurt me as it is...if something like that happened to TES...I don't know what I'd do. Burn down HollyWood or something probably...

1. Movie is a terrible idea
2. The guys in the poll are Hollywood stars, not actors in any worthwhile sense.
3. See 1. with the added point that I don't even feel the need to explain or clarify, you should just know it's a bad idea.

Other, Jerry Seinfeld... "what is the deal with these dragons!"... I could see it on T-shirts...

A movie would be a terrible idea, everyone has their own view of Dovahkihn. I know i don't want to see another terrible Will Smith or Vin Deisel (really?) movie.

I hear Will Smith is starring in a remake of "Oldboy"... The sad thing is way more people are gonna see that than the original korean movie.

EDIT: the Mer, the Orcs, and the beast races would look weird i imagine.

As much as I like Jason Statham, not for a fantasy. He was a terrible choice for Dungeon Siege. Maybe some unknown new actor. Also they could NEVER do an ElderScrolls movie that actually accomplished what the games do. Even in a Rockyesque billion part series.

Uh, no. Especially not with those names. Will smith is a pretty good actor but would not fit this role at all.

There shouldn't be a movie anyway.

Yeah, it would be hard for Hollywood to give it justice. Unless they made a dark animation like Dead Space.

Oh, and another thing, if they did lose all vestiges of sanity and make a movie, what would be wrong with say, Sigourney Weaver, or any other female for that matter, the Dovahkiin can be a female Argonian mage, after all.

I actually think if they ever did an Elder Scrolls movie, which I would personally love to see them do, it will almost certainly have a multi character approach, to accomodate the many different character types players preffer. For example, an Altmer-Mage, a Redguard and a Nordic warrior, a Dunmer Assasin, a Dunmer thief etc. If the film features a "chosen one" script as with the Nevararine or Dovakhim, then one of the characters will likely emerge as the central main, but I am rather certain there will be companion characters.

LMAO at the poll options.

And noooo to a TES movie...I never want to get a bad taste in my mouth thinking of TES like I did with D&D when that excuse for film came out... *shudders at the memory of sitting through that*

Don't know why I am bothering, maybe it's the bizzare poll choices, but there's a proper Dragon born, and what is wrong with Max von Sydow playing the part he voices in the game?
