"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Inigo Montoya ~ The Princess Bride

I can see LadyCrimson already alluded to that...."The Princess Bride" has got to be the most quotable movie...EVER!

LadyCrimson alluded to that quote, but I actually posted that quote, in post 111:

...Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means

But then I don't get no respect :)

Stelios, a Spartan warrior, cuts off the arm of a Persian ambassador demanding that they surrender...

Persian: My arm!
Stelios: It's not yours, anymore.
I like the scene where Astinos and Stelios takes on all those persians in a co-op fight. It was a cool quote..until I found it meant something else since the two were a gay couple 0_0.

"You're still here?"

"Someone's got to watch your back."

"Not now, I'm a little busy."

Jezebel: Well, personally, I never went for church names.
[Jacob laughs]
Jezebel: What?
Jacob Singer: Where do you think Jezebel came from?
Jezebel: No one calls me that.
Jacob Singer: You're such a heathen, Jezzie. How'd I ever get involved with such a [censored]in' ninny?
Jezebel: You sold your soul, remember? That's what you told me.
Jacob Singer: Yeah? For what?
Jezebel: A good lay.
Jacob Singer: Look what I got.
Jezebel, Jacob Singer: The best.
What movie is that quote from?

Not to hijack this thread. But I'm pretty sure they were father and son, not a "gay couple".

Here's some more from The Running Man.
"Hey light bulb---hey Christmas Tree!!!
"Whatever happend to Buzzsaw?"-"He had to split!"
"Jesus Christ!"-"Guess again!"
"Killian...I'll be back!"-"Only in a rerun!"

This is another classic.

"I live to see you eat that contract. But I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and rip out your [censored] spine!"

Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. [censored] it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy [censored] we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.

As the posted above me clarified, Astinos was the captain's son. Stelios was Astinos' lover.

On topic:

If you can't do something smart, do something right.

We who have seen war, will never stop seeing it. In the silence of the night, we will always hear the screams. So this is our story, for we were soldiers once,
..and young.

Fletch: You fellas wanna read me my rights?
Detective #2: You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to have your face kicked in by me. You have the right to have your balls stomped by him.
Fletch: I'll waive my rights.

From http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089155/quotes, an oldie but I still regularly say at least 10 lines from that movie.

Airplane, such a damn good movie:

Rumack: You'd better tell the Captain we've got to land as soon as we can. This woman has to be gotten to a hospital.
Elaine dikeinson: A hospital? What is it?
Rumack: It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

[as the plane prepares to take off]
Older Woman: Nervous?
Ted Striker: Yes.
Older Woman: First time?
Ted Striker: No, I've been nervous lots of times.

Rumack: Captain, how soon can you land?
Captain Oveur: I can't tell.
Rumack: You can tell me. I'm a doctor.
Captain Oveur: No. I mean I'm just not sure.
Rumack: Well, can't you take a guess?
Captain Oveur: Well, not for another two hours.
Rumack: You can't take a guess for another two hours?

Yeah, there are some films like Airplane, Anchorman and Fletch that are just full to the brim with memorable lines.

Another movie with lots of great quotes is Withnail & I - "I'm a trained actor reduced to the status of a bum!"

It's a bit long to be considered a quote but I also love this passage from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUgs2O7Okqc

During a dinner a few months ago, while eating salad, I held up a baby carrot and said, "There is a certain je ne sais quoi about a firm, young carrot." Nobody laughed.

Withnail & I, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and The Big Lebowski are my favorite films. What does it say about me that all three of them involve the copious consumption of mind-altering substances?

Ah Chevy Chase. If only he had aged as gracefully as William Shatner. Speaking of which...

From the Dark Knight:
Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

And the one in my signature

Jacob's Ladder.

Eckhart saw Hell too. He said: "The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you," he said. "They're freeing your soul. So, if you're frightened of dying and... you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth."

I so hope he's right..

"Hi there, I'm your scary medical demon from Hell's own operating theatre today. I'm just going to use these rusty and creepily 1950's looking medical instruments to perform a routine donutectomy."

Anyway, OT, from Mean Streets : "You know what the Queen said? If I had balls, I'd be King."
