Finaly gonna try a Mer out...

No, I'm pretty sure even Bethesda intended for all races to have their strengths.

I hate the elf people that feel elves are better than the other races. Especially Altmer people. -shutters-
As far as the elves go, I'd say Bosmer are the coolest. They seem to be the least [censored].

BOSMER? HA! They eat their own dead for crying out loud. You know why? Because they know even the ground doesn't want them.

Anyone else find it ironic that the lamest of the mer races sounds like "Boss Mer?" It's like they knew they svcked and tried to make themselves feel better by calling themselves "boss".

If you don't believe me, ask Neloth.

He makes it pretty obvious that we Dunmer are superior.

Okay.

Careful man. Don't upset them or they'll go into a frothing cannibalistic orgy.

Bosmer are a bit lame IMO. They are like any stock fantasy elf, except that all their cool features have been passed to the Altmer and Dunmer. What we have left are these aliens that eat their dead and excel in archery.

There's some obscure dev thread I can't find now in the Library, where it was said it's pronounced bow-mer with a silent 's'.

I like the human races too though. I just happen to think Bosmer are also cool. People want to hate on their traditions though I guess. Bosmer are lame just because they're canibalistic?

And Argonians lick tree's, and Dunmer revere potatoes, and Altmer think they live in a prison world, and Nords want the kids off their lawn...

They pronounce it Bosmer in game though.

Lol, its true, but if it wasn't Nords, it'd be Dunmer. Or Redguards if we had more lore on them. What we do have on them makes them sound uber BA, which makes me happy to see the bruthas given something cool.

I actually think that makes them cool. Read A Dance in Fire. One of my favorite book series in TES. Talks a lot about Valenwood. I just don't like Bosmer because they look like wimps and use mainly bows. Epiphany of elf sissies. Now if they were like Legolas, that'd be different.

They are the only race of Men to have gone against two races of Mer (Dunmer and Dwemer) at the same time and hold their own...

While I won't ever play a Nord, I do give their combat prowess the healthy respect that it deserves.

So essentially your gamer hardon is for whichever is the token race in the installment. Convenient.

Can't wait for the racial awkwardness when TES: Hammerfell comes out.

I'll level with you. Most people probably don't like Bosmer because they're not what you'd call "macho men". I think most guys want to be a manly character, and Bosmer just don't hit that mark for the most part.

No, I always loved the Nords the most, but I did always play a dunmer in Morrowind. In Cyrodiil I played an Imperial more than my Nord, but I always favored them over imperials. It just makes more sense rp wise to me to play as the race that is dominant in the province. But now that the dunmer, nords, and imperials are out of the way, and all that is left is the races that I least care about, not counting redguards, I'll more than likely still be playing nords exclusively, unless we go to hammerfell. But my avatar will still remain the same. Not changing that.

Bows are great. Bows are a more elegant style of combat. Which is why elves have always been associated with the use of bows. Running in swinging a melee weapon isn't as smart in my opinion when you can sit back and handle your enemies from a distance. Until they close that distance, then you resort to melee combat.
