For PC users: What rig do you got?

Post » Wed Jun 16, 2010 11:14 pm

EVGA 680i rev. A2
Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz (450x8) 1.392V
2X2GB OCZ ReaperX @ 900mhz L&S 4-4-3-12 1T timing 2.0V (I had this memory hit 1130mhz with looser timings but runs way better like this)
Zalman 9700NT
EVGA 8800GTS 512 @ 840/2098/1085
WD Caviar Black 1TB dual processor and a few crap larger storage drives
Seasonic M12 500
Antec 900 all fans replaced with Zalman Green LED except top exhaust fan
Samsung SynchMaster 2253BW
Win7 Ultimate X64
OCZ Equalizer Laser Mouse
XBox360 Controller
Maudio Studiophile BX5a Deluxe 70-watt Bi-amplified Studio Reference Monitors

I put this rig together a little more than 3 years ago and even though it's aging it still keeps going and going :) However I do plan on building a new Gaming Rig in the near future.

Intel i7-2630QM
Nvidia GTX 460M
8GB DDR3
750GB HDD
17.3" HD display

I run this game at about 50FPS with Anti-Aliasing turned on 4X at maximum resolution which is 1600x900. I have this game along with Call of Duty: Black Ops and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and I have to admit this game runs much smoother than either of those games but Battlefield is close second. COD:BO svcks when it comes to playing online because servers crash too much which makes me happy that I don't have to worry about that happening as much.

as you have a couple of decent GPU's that shouldnt be the issue on extreme
as ive got the same gpu's as you i know for a fact that
1. if the game kind of slides frame by frame on the large outdoor levels you need faster system memory. 1866 svcked ass for me, upping it to 2133 nearly cured all my stutter.
2. If it feels fatiguing to play, your cpu needs OC'ing or replacing with a faster model to get rid of that jitter
even a I7-2600k at 3.4 will jitter and fatigue you driving those 2 gpu's on extreme
