it's possible..
crysis 2 isnt really that demanding. not really CPU bound either.
I ran this on my old system (e7200 dual core at 3.1ghz with 8800gt) and runs fine at 40fps on low settings.

My current rig (got the parts last week)

i5 2500k @ 4.0ghz
Sapphire HD 5870 1gb
8gb Patriot RAM 1333mhz

runs extreme at 60+ constant fps.

I have a i7-990x
tri-sli gtx 570
Gigabyte G1 Assassin mobo
24 gb ram
and bought a new 120hz BenQ monitor
Cpu liquid cooling ordered and gpu liquid cooling soon.

With the new monitor get 120-140 fps! I will soon buy a Nvidia 3d Vision kit and see how it looks in 3d.

I made mine as cheap as I could, getting any part I could on the best bargain- deal I could find, and getting the case from a friend.

Intel i7 - 920 2.66GHz
Asus Sabertooth X58 Mobo
Sapphire Vapor-X 5750
4GB DDR3 RAM
500GB HD
BFG Tech 550W
Acer 19" 16:10 1440x900 (Free!)
I'm working on liquid cooling the CPU, I have most of the parts for it.

It runs on Very High flawlessly, and can run Extreme, but at points the controls feel somewhat slow, so I leave it at Very High.

My system was orignally built for triple head desktop for office work but the 5770 ran Crysis and after a 10 year lay off I'm back gaming again. Already upgraded that 5770 to 6870HD

AMD X4 630
Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P
4GB DDR3 1333 (2 x 2GB)
Gigabyte 6870HD 1GB
500GB WD Black
Cooler Master 550W PSU
Antec 300 Case
1 x Samsung BX2235
2 x Samsung 2033SW (not used for gaming - just desktop stuff)
Aktimate Mini Speakers or Audio Tecknia ATH-A700

Next upgrades will be RAM going to 16GB then a decent DAC for those speakers/cans

Intel i5-2500k
Sparkle GTX 580
some 8GB of RAM

The campaign runs absolutely constant on the 60's, from time to time there's a frame drop during mp, however it's only noticable with a frame recording tool.

Btw any recommendations to give my system ( a few posts ago) a boost without spending big bucks, don't want anything to bottleneck either. For that matter does anyone know what the bottleneck in my rig might be and if so how bad? Thanks ;)
