For PC users: What rig do you got?

Post » Wed Jun 16, 2010 3:13 pm

Intel Core i5
4 x 4GB Ram
NVIDIA GTS 250 1GB
1T HD
Last 7 64bit

With a tweaked Last 7 OS running 64bit and 16GB ram, this thing is faster than a bar of soap sliding downhill on a pavement of grease.

bought a new rig... It wasn't really meant to play Crysis 2 since it isn't truly 'polished' yet.

Amd 1090t
gtx 580
Corsair 750 watt
Phantom NZXT case
2x2gb 1600 mhz Kingston
Gigabye UD3H mobo..

Nothing special..

AMD Athlon x64 X2 3800+ 2.0 GHZ
ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro
2 Hynix, 1 Kingston, 800 mhz = 3 GB
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Runs on High with 800x600
Getting 40 fps Average

well, this week i get my ordered parts and now i have: (some exact descriptions forgotten/ lines without "before"s= still have)

case: cooler master HAF RC-922M-KKN1-GP before sharkoon rebel9
mobo: msi p67a-gd53 (1155/sandy bridge) before evga 780i sli board socket 775
cpu: core-i 7 2600k (4x3.4ghz) before core 2 duo e6850 2x2.66 ghz
Ram: 4x2gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz ddr3 before ocz 2x2gb ddr2 800mhz
gpu: xfx geforce gtx285
hdd: 500gb sata
dvd-rom and rw sata from lg
650w psu,
win 7-64bit before vista 32-bit

well, make comparison:

with the old system, i could maxed out crysis 2 just by 13?? x 7?? or 1440x 900 resolution, it tooks like 10seconds to start or quit the game, to load a savegame i didnt count it.

with the new system, i can maxed out 1920x1080 by 23" tft monitor, starting or ending game maximum 2seconds, loading savegames maximum 5seconds.

its more then i expected, thought gpu is more important and cpu dont need to be extrem. i planed to buy later gtx580 but this can wait now.
now i want to mod my case with better case coolers and extra "plastic/elastic screws" to minimze vibration. also i need better cpu cooler. with the boxed version you get 63°C, i looked 3times and use arctic cooling solution. even the boxed version of e6850 get oc'ed to 3.2ghz by 45°C

i decided for p67 instead of h67 cause i dont need the graphic of cpu. silly thing is i dont know any cmds for crysis 2:( however im very glade now:D

played on 1920x1080, extreme detail level. did not perform any kind of benchmark but it was highly playable. i'd say around 30-40fps or more.

My Rig at the moment struggles to run crysis, with my GPU being the bottleneck, but im upgrading to either the 5770, or 550ti, depending on my rather low Budget.

Specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.5GHz
4GB DDR2 @ 800MHz
Nvidia Geforce GT120 1GB (OEM + Awful)
500GB Samsung 7200rpm Hard-drive (planning on adding an SSD)

:D
Awesome Rigs you got there guys xD

Well I'm a noob on the gameing scene but I've got this in my box:

AMD Phenom ii x6 1100T
AMD Radeon HD6870
8MB Corsair 1333 Memory
22" Samsung touch-screen monitor.

Could any one tell where I can find a Crysis 2 demo Server because I have only seen the intro graphics but I want to try before I buy. ;-)

Phenom II x6 1055T @stock, overclock values written down for a 3.8 leap once new cooler arrives
Sapphire Radeon HD6950 2GB Rev. B (online order victim!)-no dual bios, no reference design backplate
4 GB 1600 MHz OCZ Gold DDR3 RAM (8-8-8-24 timings, no OC)
Asus M4A89TD PRO Mobo, 890FX chipset
OCZ StealthXStream 700W PSU
HAF 932 All-blue-fan-cooled (that thing's a fridge)

1280x1024 @ Extreme setting with V-Sync and full-screen options enabled keeps me steadily at 75 FPS, don't criticize small monitor (it's a 17" one), I am currently saving some dough for a full HD LED screen, Samsung EX2220.
By the way, if anyone has any knowledge or thoughts over EX2220's gaming performance and image quality let me know (preferably PM me).
