For PC users: What rig do you got?

Post » Sat Jun 12, 2010 8:01 pm

My now obsolete rig for what im hoping to run Crysis 2 on, I dont have the money to upgrade before release.

Intel Core Two Duo E6750 @ 3.4Ghz (Overclocked from 2.66Ghz)
Nvidia GeForce GTX285
4GB DDR2 RAM @ 1600Mhz
Windows Vista 32-bit

Im getting an Antec 1200 and Win 7 before release, with the future im planning an i7 950 and chipset upgrade finally.
Antec 1200 is overkill.

How come, it's just a power supply. :)

Because you have enough with a 550W supply with that system. Also with such a heavy power supply the efficiency at a much lower power use is poor.
So its way overkill, a waist of money and power. Unless you are considering upgrading to 2 x GTX580. If not, save your money.

Still using the same rig as I had for the original crysis apart from adding a nv gtx275, I'm not expecting crysis 2 to run bad, maybe even better than the original, hi to all those I've not seen for a while as well.

I know, it had it running at 3.6 once but I think I've got bad bach. :(

Anything higher than 180 Bclock with x20/21 failes unless my Vcore is at 1.4V and it's too much.

I currently have a mid tower case and its crammed full. I want a full tower case so that I never have to worry about parts fitting inside my case again. The $50 extra to get a huge case is worth it since I will have space inside it for years upon years, compared to a mid-tower case that runs out of space and gets hot/toasty.

The Antec 1200 case comes with tons of fans. They have filters on them that you can remove and wipe off dust from, so they get the maximum flow of air into the case and dont coat your parts with dust in the process. Ingenious cooling design = satisfied customer. :)

Trust me, the only thing im worrying about is my power supply cables not reaching all my parts, but it is a rather new power supply that I bought this year and its very good quality, so it should not be an issue for me.

Excellent Cooling

The Antect Twelve Hundred comes equip with massive cooling options. A special 200mm fan on top, two rear 120mm fans , 3 front 120mm fans, 1 open slot for a side case fan, and one open slot for a middle fan give you ultimate cooling where you need it most.

Cleanable Air Filters

The cleanable air filters reduce dust build up on your expensive parts.

Go to BIOS and into the overclocking area, you will find your speed there.
