I'm fine with the Pipboy-3000 hopefully they will give us something new in the next fallout 4 with some customization as well as new features.

Ithe 50's is merely their current societal state one what popular kinda thing just like hippies were . . The tech is far advanced enough it's merely peoples thinking that makes the 50's vibe and music having returned . . Heck old hairband style rock has come back today so who's to say that the 50-esque theme didn't merely "return to fame"

Now you're behaving like that thread from Yesterday, no matter what you think, Fallout canon has indicated that since 1949, it's been the 1950s version of America. And until retconned otherwise, it will remain seen as it was stuck in the 1950s. And the advanced tech, we already explained on page one 'retrofuturism'.

Well I still don't get the fact that bio warfare is perfected just about and laser weapOns are practically a household item . . It's quite surprising in my eyes but I see your point actually . . Seeing as the bombs fell then its like all unseen things were atomized as well . . . It's kinda like what Khan from metro 2033 said . . Humanity what's it's own downfall and when the bombs fell time was frozen in it's steps

Ohhh, Steampunk.... I'd so love a steampunk mod for F:NV! <3 Don't get what you mean with the PipBoy 3000 being steampunk though... :s

Maybe we can hope that in Fallout 4, we get to choose between PipBoy 2000, PipBoy 3000 and maybe a new PipBoy model.

I understand what you're saying, but I'm fond of the Pipboy 3000, I'm finicky about new technology being added. I'm not against new inovations, but I'm very defensive of following the atmosphere the game tries to give off, and I can't see a hand held PDA looking Retro-Futuristic.

simplist solution, have it be a piece of apparal, so you can take it off and put it back on. They would have to adjust the game menu, which would mean getting rid of the menu look since it would make sense having your arm pop up showing skin every time you press B or whatever. I agree with the OP though, specificly when I am wearing a radiation suit and I am wondering why my fingers are exposed.

Wow -_- I'm screwed . . It seems mod users have everything figured out but what I'm saying is give the player a choice ya kno . . Like kinda like getting the pimp boy 3 billion but with PDA type thing like a readies or something

If they start catering to every individual's taste (especially when said tastes go against the atmosphere of the game in general, like an advanced looking iphone readius pipboy equivalent), they'll soon find development time ballooning beyond their ability to complete in a reasonable timeframe.

I mean, I want dongcopters. There should be options for a dongcopter companion instead of EDI. Just like the thing that attacked Gary Kasparov. That would be cool. They could just make it optional!

Problem here being that options still take developer time to implement, so they have to pick and choose what options to implement and what to not implement. And frankly, the pipboy readius is not important enough to implement.

Besides, Xbox players get the DLC first. They aren't being neglected. And if they really want a pipboy readius, they can buy the PC version and then mod it.

Also just to agree with the OP, even though I like the pip boy great, there is a thing called a pip-pad! It's referenced in the Fallout: Online newsletter, and even displayed on it! I would figured since it's interplay, it's canon, but lore nuts like me, go crazy!

Personally I'd love to see some Pipboy conversion mods. There's the "http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34911" mod, that at least lets you have the glove that matches the suit you're wearing (no more exposed fingers in the rad suit), and a few texture mods, but other than the Readius, there's no real conversions. Maybe some talented modeler will see the links posted in this thread and be inspired.

None of this helps the console players, though. Maybe something will turn up in a DLC for them.

Maybe when you receive your pip-boy in FO4 they will give you a choice between Pip-Boy 3000 or 4000 (readius)

Ok I'm sick of this pop boy thing on my arm . . Seriously Bethesda look at the pip boy Readius mod and how many people have it and tell me they wouldnt prefer if THAT was standard? I want a quest or patch or something that allows you to remove it entirely or atleast make a smaller, less noticeable version like the pip boy 5000 that's like watch sized or something . . I want to wear a regular outfit like and NpC without going buy the computer version since i play on a 360. Come on give us 360 users something we want or once, that goes for you too obsidian.

But if you got a pip-boy 5000 it would defeat the style purpose of this game. The 5000 looks much more like a phone with a velcro strap on it and youre honestly going to tell me you'd rather that?

This games style is supposed to be like style froze in the 50's but technology still advanced OR as some people like to say it. It's the way people in the 50's saw the future to be like in terms of technology (i dont believe this theory because the 50's style clearly persisted into the late 2000's and was present in 2077 eg. In art like posters, bilboards etc etc).

Maybe the hero in 4 will get the 3000B model with those fancy new microchip things Robco introduced just before the war.

if you put the spacesuit on ( http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Space_suit ) it removes the pipboy glove (i'm on ps3 not sure about xbox or pc)

Hey I'm curious what the hell is that thing that Ceaser wears on his arm, I notices a few of the brotherhood scribes wearing like black ones with green lights, instead of his white one. Also, what's the pip-boy 5000?

Still here. The PipBoy glove as people call it is the fingerless glove on your hand and the terminal clamped to your arm.

Considering the computers before the war were still running on vacuum tubes. I really doubt that.

Lol you definitely read what OP said. :D

On topic: I play in 3ps view and it bothers me alot on Power suits and radiation ones. Don't care on others.
It's not about the looks, but from realistic point of view. How the hell you can attach or detach parts of those suits is beyond me.
Putting something that bulky and probably heavy on to your hand is just stupid. First it's going to tire your hand and second it's gonna get broken easier than sitting in some pocket or pouch.

In next Fallout I prefer to make it more like PDA sitting in a pocket. Let it be big and bulky, but not on my hand.

After all I don't have much problem, just don't find it realistic. :) There are more, more, more.. did I say more things need fixing before this.

don't worry, Mikhial39116, i know what you are talking about-

i was hoping in FO4 they will have a Pip-Pad with lots of great apps, and a built in tip calculator

(don't ya feel like you are banging your head against the wall trying to communicate with people on "teh internetz" sometimes?)

Fallout: New Vegas is not Fallout 4. :wallbash:

Edit: Wait never mind, I misunderstood. Anyways, an option to take it off somewhere would be nice but the Pipboy is fine.

It's impossible for developers to create every single aspect of the game to absolutely and completely suit every single person who is going to buy it. Parts of the gamae are going to be disliked by the gamers. If Bethesda/Oblivion spent all their time creating every possible option for an alternative to every single little molecule in that game (yay! Hyperbole!) then it would either be even more of a mess than in is now, or it'll get released when no-one even knows what "Fallout" is anymore.
If you ask me, complaining about the Pip-boy because it doesn't really look that cool to you is just plain nit-picky. If you wanted to be able to change everything in the game you should have got a PC so you can mod.
If you've played all the Fallouts before, you should have already formed an opinion on the Pip-boy, and as you dislike the Pip-boy, perhaps a PC version of this game would have been better for you.
I hope this doesn't come across as aggressive or anything. Just makin' a point.
