If I remember correctly, Dragonborn was registered long before the Dawnguard... you know dragonborn is a common term in the game, the Dragonborn term should have been registered long before the game release itself.

Become emperor...

Yeah right...
Being dragonborn doesn't give you a legitimate claim to the throne...
And even if you could be emperor, im sure people of skyrim will still treat you like Sh*t when passing by...

I highly doubt it. I'd sat Zenimax wanted to keep the phrase for themselves, seeing as its become quite a famous phrase.

It seems Zenimax can't trademark anything these days without it being a Skyrim DLC ...

Dragonborn was registered sometime after Dawnguard and sometime before Hearthfire.

Whether it is DLC, we don't know, and we can't even be 100% certain about Hearthfire yet. That said, as Dragonborn is a central term in Skyrim, it is possible that they would seek to protect that term even if it isn't DLC, whereas Hearthfire is a tangential term in Skyrim, so its protection probably signifies they are doing something important with it.

They trademarked it to make sure it was known, it was their phrase. This way, no other games can have that phrase usage. It's a smart idea, now if anyone wants to use the phrase Dragonborn, they have to pay Zenimax a certain fee. They may not get an entire amount of expect from some of it's fan base(Which is dumb that they don't), but their legal department aren't stupid.

Dunno if this was here before, but click it again.

They're also attempting "Fus Ro Dah."
Highly doubt that's a DLC name. If it is, that's hella lulzy.

We are proud to announce our new DLC which has the Title ''Fus Ro Dah''. The DLC will center around the Fus Ro Dah shout and upgrading it until it can tear down whole citys.

Nah, a better way to estimate the DLCs Skyrim will have is to compare how long they produced DLC for former titles. New Vegas got DLCs up to a year after it's production, as did FO3. Same case for Oblivion with Shivering Isles' release and Morrowind with it's two.
Having said that, I'd guess Skyrim will get just 2-3 expansions, since this first expansion alone was 7 months.

That would be awesome, and then get everyone and their mother to gang [censored] the Thalmor, including the Thalmor themselves, yeah I created a paradox.

There are Dragonborn in D&D, where they're a race of dragonlike humanoids so the word itself is not unique to Skyrim. I think it would be a good title for the final DLC that wraps up the major storyline.

Something to do with water. I really think it's an area that needs to be expanded on.
I agree. They could make some kind of skyrim atlantis you have to explore. Maybe a sunken dwemer city that reveals more about the lost race. The hero would have to either get a long lasting breathing spell or a dwemer breather suit from a blacksmith. You could add along with swarms of slaughterfish. Weresharks, giants squids, underwater dragons, and whales. When your in the sunken city you can explore just like on land. The new ability would be a wereshark transformation along with a new skill tree for mages. The skill tree with allow them to transform or take control of animals and monsters in skyrim. The higher perks the better the creature. Next you could add a plot of land for the hero after he does the civil war. This plot of land could allow him to make a house (Pre built roofs and stuff but you mix and match) and add furniture (It would look like a kind of sims mode thing). The new weapons could be tridents, harpoons, and spears. New assasination moves should be added to those who use to stealth. The new realm of oblivion would belong to the prince whos in charge of the sea.

It would be strange to have such DLC, because you play as dragonborn.
So if you finished the main quest, what coudl they possibly do more about the whole "dragonborn thing"?

Todd did say in an interview that he wanted to do more with dragons.

No it's not the next DLC.

Dragonborn and Fus Ro Dah were trademarked only for protection of their intellectual property/brand. Then they can use it for merchandise and other goodies like tshirts, bags, figurines, etc. but they are not for future use of DLC for Skyrim or other standalone titles.

You are probably right on the 2-3 Biggish expansions but I would expect smaller updates up until the "brainstorming stage" ends and production begins on the next F/O or new IP. Not sure if Bethesda has either development kit yet but I think a lot of developers are in limbo currently becuase MicroShaft and Sony are scared of losing upfront money on the next wave of consoles. It's like the giant purple elephant in the room that nobody wants to believe is there.

Fallout 3 expanded it's main storyline with Broken Steel, so my bet is that if Dragonborn trully is a future EP, it's gonna expand/revamp the MQ

Could be this. They filed "Fus Roh Da" on April 4th, 2012 too: http://tarr.uspto.gov/tarr?regser=serial&entry=85589298&action=Request+Status

What I don't understand is why Dawnguard is not on the list...
