Bethesda is "collaboratively working with us on this." As I've said, the disconnect is not as clear as everyone assumed.

EDIT: AAAAAAAAAAH The images on the slide projecter at 4:00!!! SO MUCH FAIL!!! The same isometric garbage view and asinine interface as any typical MMO. Sure it's alpha but as we've seen with other MMO launches this is NOT going to change all that much in a year.

I don't care what you say about the world and the quests, this is not TES...

Hm, only new info I got was that the interface is smaller than in a traditional MMO. That'll be quite interesting to see ...

I love how they're putting in such effort to make Cyrodiil the same as in Oblivion! If we're lucky, they're doing the same for Skyrim and Morrowind.

If it has Beth's approval, it is a TES game. They invented it, so they should know

Bite your tongue. One of the reason Bethesda does so well is because they're one of the few developers who actually bother making in depth single player RPGs. So many developers are either dead or scrambling for the magic MMO money (and failing).

Their single player RPGs will still be awesome and in depth. They just now have somebody making them an Online game that has the potential to be a cash cow.

After this MMO, there's no way that ES VI won't have some sort of multiplayer.

Aside from the fact Bethesda's never done multiplayer, the majority of the fanbase doesn't want it, and that focus on a multiplayer aspect only serves to water down the single player experience (which already needs stricter bug testing).

Thanks for the hint! I love the UI. Looks very clean and simple, although as you said it's just in alpha stage and will get a lot more polish by release. Looks like there are just 6 hotkeys (light, heavy, finesse and 3 skills) on the bar and 3 smaller buttons next to it.

Do you have any access to tools that agree with your statement that most players do not want it? Not trying to argue but I literally just got done watching a video through Game Informer where Zeni clearly states that there are millions of Elder Scroll Players who have also played/play MMOs.

Adding MP to an established SP franchise is never a good idea. Look at what happened to Bioshock 2; the SP suffered because they wanted to add a MP portion, and the MP wasn't even that good.

Now, imagine what adding co-op would do to TES? We'd lose too many features for it to ever be worth while.

What are you on about? BethesdaGS have already said they are always going to be concentrating on single player RPGs:

EDIT: Oh and Gstaff thanks for the video, good watch.

Go back and look at the attempts at a few "Hey guys wouldn't multiplayer in TES be awesome" threads.

"Nobody wants it", yet we have an MMO on the horizon. Whether BGS is developing or not is irrelevant. The series is now officially adding a multiplayer entry, so that's a moot point.

And the excuse that "they've never done multiplayer before" is the worst of all. They can learn. They can add people to the team with online experience. BGS is constantly growing. From Morrowind until Skyrim, the team has gotten bigger. There's no chance that they go into the next generation and not start to develop for multiplayer. Online gaming is huge this generation. It's only going to get bigger with the next iteration of consoles. BGS will expand.

So basically, you take a small sample of the players and assume that holds true for all? Your beloved developer didn't make those other games. And every time you say X wouldn't work in the next Elder Scrolls game or that Y is going to ruin the franchise, it proves that they know better than the vocal players. Whatever they decide, it will work. But my point was I am sure Beth and Zeni have more tools on hand to know these things than the players do. Who know how many emails they get about multiplayer? Only them.

They did, once. It... didn't work, but then again the game they attached it to (Battlespire) wasn't all that good on its own either. Whether that had anything to do with the decision to include multiplayer, I have no idea.

What in the blue hell are you talking about? Nobody wants MP tacked onto our SP games. An MMO (being made by a different studio, no less) has absolutely no bearing on this. I'm stoked for the MMO, but I'd burn down gamesas's HQ if they decided that TES VI needed co-op.

You just set up one of the best looking strawman arguments I've ever seen.

This MMO will set a precedent for Elder Scrolls though. Even though BGS aren't developing it, there will be a ton of people who will expect some sort of multiplayer in ES VI.
