Great point 'n click adventure game. Nice story and voice acting, cool old school graphics style.

It has a good system of using mostly your mouth/hand/feet to solve puzzles and not so many inventory items, so it all felt pretty intuitive and I never had to resort to a guide, and I almost never got stuck for longer than 10 minutes. But it's not too easy either.

It has some combat in it which is pretty meh but there are only a few encounters.

Highly recommend it if you like old school adventure games.

I've heard nothing but rave reviews for Bastion, especially for the Narrator.

It's a bit like an action RPG. The combat is a bit Diablo-esque, only more basic. No hotkey stuff. You can have 2 weapons with you and one special skill, and they can be swapped between levels. The combat isn't really unique or exceptional but it's solid.

What's interesting about it is the story and the way it delivers it: A narrator talks about the world and what you're doing as you go. It's a very nice story set in a very strange shattered world. The game also looks very nice and the artwork is in 1080p resolution. I'm playing through it for the second time on my new 23 inch monitor and it looks fantastic.

It also has a very good soundtrack which you can listen to http://supergiantgames.bandcamp.com/. I wouldn't listen to more than the first 6-7 songs or so, it's sort of spoilery later on.

It's the combination of the art style, narrated story and soundtrack that does it really.

When playing warband, the mounted combat was great, but I disliked the inventory system and after a while the game seemed to be grow repetitive as all I was doing was entering tournaments and picking up the same quests from various castles.
Did you try taking over the world? A large part of the gameplay opens up only when you start getting involved in full scale wars, either as a vassal fighting for an established ruler or in an attempt to carve out a kingdom of your own.

The former gives you the opportunity to gain towns and castles as you ruler sees fit, and the ability to politic your way into greater power (svcking up to people and marrying into families can get them on side and influence you chances of getting your way). The latter brings in a variety of elements that come with managing a realm; distributing lands, diplomacy in relation to other world powers, diplomacy within your borders -keeping your lords happy etcetera- and that's just what I can remember off the top of my head.

I agree with it being the combination of things, especially the art style and soundtrack. I would have bought it at full price and I even got the soundtrack edition. Games like this definately deserver to have their developers supported. I played it with a keyboard and mouse and had no issues with the controls. Everyone should own this game in my opinion.

Am I the only one who finds "EA Indie Bundle" hilariously oxymoronic?

I'm kicking myself for not getting all of the Shogun 2 stuff cheap when it was on sale. Now I have to wait for it again...
