yea, im trying to unlock the last part of the unrelenting force shout and when i talk to master mufgar all he does is nod, if you can give me an easy solution that would be great since i cant continue my main quest until it is fixed.....

I also am now given a thives guild quest I cant finish. I may need to reload, but I am unsure how much progress will be lost :/ Damnit.

same for me... did you complete the imperial army quest line and liberate windhelm... seems that might have something to do with it.

I too have had Erandur disappear when I entered the temple in the "Waking Nightmare" quest. Is this going to be fixed, or is Dawnstar going to be pretty useless to me?

The librarian at Winterhold asked me get Invocation of Azura, i already had it (area cleared for a bounty). I have the book, can't remove/sell it cause it is a quest item.

But the quest is still pointing to the empty chest I got it from... no dialogue option to give it to him either

Sounds like my problem. The librarian asked me to get Chimarvamidium from Halted Stream Camp. I'd already cleared the camp and had the book in my inventory as an unidentified quest item. Quest arrow is hovering over the empty chest, and the librarian has no "oh, you already have it!" option. Can't complete the quest.

For me there is no word! That's the issue. He nods instead of putting it on the
Ground.

I had an issue with the Bound Until Death quest. I followed the bride onto the balcony, and killed her there while she was giving her speech. I reported back to Astrid, and she claims I did not do as I was instructed, and forfeited my bonus.

I put this on the UESP, but I'm hoping there will be a fix for it.


For me there is no word! That's the issue. He nods instead of putting it on the
Ground.

That IS messed up.

Cannot complete thiefs guild last quest where you are talking to Nocturnal.. I've seen on youtube videos that Karliah appears and you talk to her after. I loaded back, looked around just when i put the key in and i see Karliah.. leaving the room. She does not appear again :( When done talking to Nocturnal, nothing happens.. at all.

edit: Quest - Darkness returns

makes it easier for people to search for the bug if it happensf or them

After completing Blood's Honor, sometimes Vilkas won't give you the next quest, 'Purity of Revenge'. Because I can't do the quest, Jorvaskkr is stuck in 'busy' mode and I can't finish the Companions Guild.

I have the same problem. Reloaded multiple times, no dice. Very frustrating!

Just to save some possible frustration, DO NOT start the quest The House Of Horrors. If it ends up glitching you will deeply regret it.

I finally arrived to Markarth, since that's where a quest led me. But like most cities, there was a lot offered so I decided to explore. I picked up a few quests, and then decided to get back to my main one. I was just minding my business until this peculiar monk looking man stopped me and asked if I knew who this house belonged to. Blah blah blah, supposedly it was used for Daedra worship, and he wants me to help investigate. So I accept, and we go into the house. He seemed to be ahead of me, but he suddenly glitched back but then kept walking forward a little, stopping in the middle of this room. I didn't know if this was normal or not, but I explored the house anyways. Finding a bunch of junk and odd noises coming from the basemant. Mr. Monk man still standing in the same spot. So, for about thirty minutes, I searched the house thinking I had to find something. No luck.

I decided to leave, then come back inside. The whole damn house was shaking, and [censored] was being thrown everywhere! Didn't know what to expect at this point, but I continued to search. Not as long as last time, and I went back outside. The whole city was shaking and my game had this complete brightness change.. I looked the quest online to see what actually should've happened, and then I went inside to kill the guy to stay somewhat true to the quest. I was congratulated, then I went to the basemant. Then everything was fine, except THE [censored] DOOR IS LOCKED AND SHOULD BE OPENED.

Now, I have a few save files plauged by the awful brightness change, and one main one that I usually use, that has me stuck in that house!!! PLEASE FIX THIS, THERE ARE PLENTY OF PEOPLES SUFFERING THIS ISSUE! I have ONE save prior to this quest, but I did a lot between that one and my main, and I don't have much motivation for repeating all of that. :l Please help. I tried clearing my cache, that didn't work. Out of ideas, and patience.

Okay, about the dragon glitch I mentioned earlier, it seems it's common for dragons to glitch if they are guarding word walls that are outside, not in a dungeon. The way I fixed it was by attacking the dragon, running away, fast traveling a long way away, fast traveling back, and it was fixed. So if you get a glitch like that, this should fix it.

Also: Volunruud
If you have trouble beating the boss, run right by him, charge down the path, there will be a staircase, a small bridge, and a small room. Hide in the room until you're 'hidden'. Then kill the other draugr, and the boss should have fallen into the little ditch below the bridge. You can attack him with missiles and he shouldn't be able to do anything. But he was randomly teleporting around when I fought him, it was really weird. A glitch? I did grab the word on the wall before fighting him, though.

I just found my first quest glitch today.....It may only be for a misc quest but i fear it might not be the first. There is a small quest for the bard college where you go to find a flute for a women. In my earlier travels i happened to stumble across the flute before knowing it was used for a quest...now i cannot give the flute to her and the only dialog i can get from her are the random sayings NPCS blurt out randomly. Also another quest was to find a drum for the bards college...well needless to say i found it and got my reward, but when i checked my inventory it was still there...so now i have a 2.5lb flute and a 4lb drum i am FORCED to carry around for no reason... All i ask is that this is taken a look at because i have many quest items that i fear will be stuck in my inventory forever weighing me down...

My thoughts on a simple quick fix (until each quest can be sorted out) is to simply make ALL quests items weigh zero pounds this would at least allow people to move on to other things without worrying about quest items weighing them down

Oh no... I have that drum, but I've never even heard of that quest...

Trouble with the Resuce Mission involving Amren. Map keeps moving the pointer to different locations. Quest says go to Shimmermist Cave, which I did i cleared it out and the quest said Amren Rescued and then it said speak to Amren but hes nowhere in the cave and the map marker keeps going to different locations and whenever i got to the location no one is there and the map marker moves again. Patch this gameee.

"Blood on the Ice" or "The Butcher" Quest line. (Minor Spoilers)

Bethesda:

I have discovered a profoundly irritating glitch with the Butcher Questline. I can't begin it. I have explored Windhelm on many occasion. Including the graveyard. At night. I have talked to the Jarl's steward. I have progressed far enough in the Stormcloak quest line to purchase a house, have raised enough money to afford the house, and have helped 5 citizens of Windhelm. I am unable to buy it due in part to my incompletion of the Butcher quests.

Before I go further, I'd like to point out that I spent some time snooping in Windhelm on my first or second visit. That includes Calixto's house of curiosities. I ended up pickpocketing his key (successfully) in the hopes of getting some sweet loot from that box above the entrance. I opened it instead to find a number of surgical instruments and the Butcher's Journal. I took the journal. A few in game days later, and both the journal and the key to his house have disappeared from my inventory. I did not store either of them anywhere. Susanna the Wicked remains alive in the central tavern.

I am really frustrated by this. I have scoured the internet for answers to this glitch and have had the entire quest line spoiled for me. I recognize the hard work Bethesda's writers put into their quests, and it's a shame that I stumbled upon the Journal early. Still, I don't feel like players should be punished for trespassing and stealing in a video game that encourages it. Please release a patch that either fixes this quest or, at the very least, allow purchase of the Windhelm house without having to do the "Blood on the Ice".

Thank you for the hard work you've put into this game,

Given by Farkas as part of The Companions.

I'm tasked with roughing up a random person in a random location....turns out it's Brina Merilis, the Jarl of Dawnstar (After helping the Legion she became it). Her only speech options involve asking how the war is going and how she's protecting the town against dragons. Not only can I not initiate the brawl via speech to "rough them up," I can't do it out of speech. If I attack I get a bounty and her guards come, I can't kill her because she doesn't die and on top of that her guards respawn endlessly.

I can't drop the mission because there's no option to do so (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ADDING THIS, it would surely fix the problem), I con't continue with the companions because I'm "already on a job for farkas," I can't tell Farkas I want to quit.....It's forced me into a hole and the only way for me to continue with the companions is to make a new character and never do this stupid mission again.
Other people have reported being tasked with "roughing up" a dead person, someone in jail that cant talk to, someone who can't be reached....etc.

Just a small one here, so far I've been lucky;

In Solitude, I need to talk to Greta for Svari to get her to go back to Temple again. She mentions the Amulet of Talos and how she needs that before she goes back. Well, when I say "I actually already have it..." or whatever it explicitly was, she never actually takes it, doesn't give me anything in return and the objective doesn't complete - it just stays there & the map marker disappears.

I have this problem too. I'm gonna leave this quest unfinished until it's fixed.

Why can i not get the mission to talk with Maven. I have reloaded a million times in attempts of acquiring the quest to no avail.
