I had finished the civil war quest with the Stormcloaks winning. I made my way from Windhelm to Riften and had gotten about halfway to Kynes Grove what do I spy but a patrol of three Imperials with a Stormcloak prisoner heading north, with no way for them to avoid Windhelm....
No wonder the Empire has been on a losing streak. Their soldiers are idiots.
I really regret not turning around and following them just to see what happened next.
They start screaming "We're routed! Fall back!" as they get attacked and clobbered to death by Stormcloak guards.

I might not have finished the civil war, but the soldiers are dumb no matter what. And that goes for both sides, unless you'd call a Stormcloak courier passing Whiterun very close by clever ...?
Anyway, I was traveling around with Erandur for a while, and was on a quest to retrieve a book at Haemar's Shame for the College. The place was still completely clear (bug probably, it's been quite a while since I did the quest with Barbas), and as I was looting some valuable arrows and money from a chest, Erandur suddenly told me: "I've been enjoying this journey with you. Not for the wealth we've accumulated, but just being able to carry Mara's will to every corner of Skyrim". It was quite an awkward situation, it sounded like he was somehow very very indirectly saying not to take the money, and I dunno, the quote rather seems like a "Goodbye and thanks for all the fish" to me.

I was worried he'd suddenly leave me. His comments up 'til then hadn't been all that positive towards my character.
Anyway, as it turned out, he never left me on his own, so I decided to go in a straight line to the Temple of Mara at Riften as a present. Turned out he had a line for that specific place as well! I was quite pleased with that little surprise.
