Got any 'wtf' moments in Skyrim? #2

For buckom - (from the last thread) I finally got around to screenshotting where the 'captive' naked, dead victim of the Forsworn is:

I won't post pics of her, since it would be more fun to discover her in game.

Near her corpse her clothes, jewelry, a satchel and her journal are all neatly laid out.

Edit: If the map isn't too clear she's located roughly halfway along a line drawn between Btharmdamz and Dragontooth Crater in The Reach.

Sweet, thanks. :)

Two questions:
1) Is it where the quest marker is, the pointer arrow is, or where your marker is?
2) Which shrine is that that it's nearest? Peryite?

It's the solid white arrow marked Current Location. Yep, it's Peryite's shrine and Btharmdamz is the Dwemer ruin where Peryite sends you.

The fact that the General section is getting flooded with many different Dawnguard threads since the trailer release -with pro-Vampire and pro-Dawnguard camps already formed-, while the Cheats section only contains one nice tidy thread. I'd heard about the difference in both sections, but to see it with my own eyes now ... O_o

Still not convinced any DLC is worth it for this company. They are said to break more than they fix. Now knowing it involves vampires... really vampires!?... my interest level just went from very little to non-existant. Maybe if the Dev team grows up and actually makes something good w/o dipping into that cess pit I'll look into it. :swear:

Tried to go to blackreach this morning with my trio of followers. Only one would decend the stairs in mitznecleft([censored]-it close enough?) so I left the other two there, w/o telling them to actually stay. I work my way to the elder scroll chamber and as soon as I get the crystal egg open in walk my two missing party members; from the exit? Now granted this is a mod not working all that well on my garbage computer: but damn.

I like all the expansions for Fallout 3 (Mothership Zeta was a little hokey, but it was decent), but, yeah, I'm on the fence about this first one. I despise this vampire love trend, but will probably get the expansion for my sense of completion.

Edit: So people don't say I'm derailing the thread: the subject of the expansion is a WTF moment.

well, they did a werewolf expansion for Morrowind, so i suppose it's fair that they do a vampire DLC for skyrim.

Got a 30x sneak attack that didn't kill the enemy.
It was Krosis and I'm also playing master so maybe not the biggest wtf moment, but I'm used to killing things with the 30x backstab.

This one is definitely a headscratcher and not a full wtf moment.
Being Thane of Whiterun and also proud Breezehome-owner it was definitely weird for me leading the Stormcloaks to take over the city in the Battle for Whiterun.
"Oh, uh, guys, don't loot or break that one...its mine."
Awkward.

Friggin' spriggans.
They used some kind of nature spell I've never seen before where all of the local wildlife suddenly became hostile to me. A couple of wolves and a very angry, green, glowy goat all attacked me at once while I was dealing with the two spriggans. I killed them all luckily, but then a bear tried to eat me. I was so busy dealing with all this nature trying to gangraqe me I didn't notice my compass bar at the top was FULL of red dots. I was terrified at that point and didn't know what to make of it. Turns out every fox, bunny, goat and other wild animal in the vicinity had been affected by whatever spell the spriggans had cast and so became marked on my compass as hostile red dots even though by this time they were no longer trying to eat me.

Oh! This is a good wtf moment, promise...not like those other ones.
So I was working my way through Haemar's Shame or whatever the vampire lair that doubles as the location of Clavicus Vile's shrine is called and the first vampire I meet I save game so I can replay the encounter until I catch Sanguinare Vampiris. Well, there happens to be a pressure plate on the floor there. I ignored it and didn't pay much attention to it, but as I was reloading the save I decided I'd kill the vampire by setting off the trap because why not? One of those spiked walls comes swinging down FROM THE CEILING like nobody's business and swats the vampire OUTTA NOWHERE.
I jumped. It was very sudden and surprised me. Then I busted out laughing because it was so spectacularly brutal and effective.
Almost literally shouted "What the [censored!!]" because it surprised me so much.

I've also had guards say: "Psst! Hail Sithis!" And, no, I wasn't wearing any DB armor.

Its probably just Bethesda messing with you. The Radiant AI is so smart its actually stupid...it calls you out on stuff it couldn't possibly know just because the devs want to mess with you and give us a few chuckles.

A guard said that? Really? Hilarious.

Yes, I had a guard say this to me while I was exiting Dragonsreach.

:o Wow. I've always one-shotted Dragon Priests with backstab (on Adept). However, my Ebony Daggers are improved to Legendary and do 172 each so if you're using standard weapons I guess they could survive that.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Guard is a list of what they say if you 'meet' the requirements. :P

Last night my level 28 Dunmer is riding a horse that I "found" near a dead Bandit Thug. Near Fort Amol I encounter a group of "revelers" partying by the side of the road only the one who actually speaks to me is wearing only a hat, loincloth and boots, which I thought was a little humorous.

Just for fun I decided to mix things up, so I rode into Fort Amol and got the hostile mages all stirred up so they'd chase me which they did and of course I lead them right back to the revelers. Panic ensued on the part of the revelers and of course my newfound horse started to wander off as soon as I dismounted to dispatch the angry mages. I was taking some serious fire damage when the horse who had left me returned, stomped two of the mages into pulp and then slowly wandered off again.

At about this time I see Mai'q standing nearby observing the carnage. I approach him and he says something like "I hear that it is dangerous to be your friend."

Master difficulty, I wanna say level 27(?), and elven dagger. He was also down to about 75% health, maybe? So it really only took out about half of his health.
I can see why you're used to one-shotting everything, and no its not because you're only playing adept and not master. I feel like I should apologize for using level-appropriate gear

:P Nah. That's the way some people play. I will always try to get the best gear in every game I play - I don't mind being OP as long as I earn it on at least one character.

So i'm walking around the plains outside of whiterun and I see a dragon and giant fighting. I run up to help the giant kill the dragon, and they both decide to attack me at the same time. I kill them both and start my looting when BOOM another dragon swoops down and kills the grizzly bear that just appeared behind me. Then I finished off that dragon. I was running on pure adrenaline and attacked the next person I saw. Turns out it was my follower Lydia. She didn't make it. WTF!!!

When I was first escaping Helgen, I started exploring the lake by the Guardian Stones, and I met General Tullius. He acted like he was in Castle Dour, and he was all "Do my men start letting strangers in?" or something like that and I was like whaaaattt???

I got a monster mod for Skyrim right, so when I used a caravan to go to Riften I saw 5 red dots on the compass to the south-east, curious I decided to check it out, what I got was 2 Scamps, 1 bear, 1 Nekkis (whatever the hell that is) and 5 Bandits in a full out brawl. I threw Fury on a couple of them to make 'em fight each other then the Nekkis started hunting me, I ran all around the outside of Riften until I got to the gate at which point the guards and a horse kicked the monsters' asses.

After this I saw the encounter where some bandit comes up and asks me to hold onto something. That got ruined because two wolves attacked him.

Then I talked to a argonian lady who worked at some fishery.
Her dialogue got disturbed twice, once by a bear and the second time by 2 random Orc Hunters.

That was pretty WTF! for me, so many enemies in such short amount of time

Captuerd Odaviing this morning. He stopped talking half way thru his dialogue. I couldn't get him to say anything else; and when I exited the conversation and started over he started at the beginning of the conversation, only to Please continue, my good sir. at the exact same point...

So I obviously can't finish either the main quest or the civil war quests now as I just finished the peace confrence yesterday. (Course I could break that but I don't think the Imperials would.)
