Got a New Rifle, Need a Nickname

In honor of Simo H?yh?, who used a similar Mosin-Nagant (with over 505 sniper kills during the Winter War) I suggest naming it Belaya Smert or "White Death."

I just refer to my guns as there actual model... Or by there caliber if I only have one of that specific caliber.

This. Why do you need to name it? Just sounds stupid to me.

Because it's his rifle. There are many like it, but this one is his.

If you have two people wanting to shoot the same rifle at once.

He said at once, it would be rather uncomfy for two people to fire the same gun at the same time.

Named after the White Death, probably the greatest sniper of all time.

Unless the OP is his grandson or something, I dont see why you would name it after a famous person, just becuase they used it. Its like if someone named their guitar Jimmy or something.

I like what Joker said earlier, maybe even modify to fit something more about you or something you know? That would be pretty cool.

Comrade Nikolai-Svetlana Len-Stalin?

The Mosin is a fun rifle, extremely inexpensive. Just make sure that when you're firing it, you use non-corrosive ammunition. If you do, make sure you clean it THOROUGHLY each time you have a shooting session. Otherwise you're going to be looking at an unfirable gun pretty soon.

Back in the day, all they had for these rifles was the corrosive ammunition, and there's still a ton of it around. Don't be svckered in by its lower prices; the stress of how thoroughly you need to clean it is not worth the price difference.

That being said, you should ALWAYS clean your guns after firing. Some people say that you don't need to worry about it until it starts firing sluggishly, but I find it's much easier to take 10 minutes to clean it after each session instead of taking an hour to do it when it won't fire properly anymore. Besides, it's a good habit to get into. That way, you don't forget how to disassemble/reassemble any one gun and you don't get lazy about it.
