Halo 4

I greatly enjoyed Halo 1-3, ODST and Reach so I hope Halo 4 will live up to the expectations. However with a new company making it I am not sure if they can manage to do it "right" if you get my meaning.

Generally I am positive to the anouncement, but like anything I have expectations to I get a bit worried when I think to much about it.

I bought Halo Anniversary and yet to beat it. I'm on the Truth and Reconciliation mission.

I love how they didn't focus on the multiplayer as much. And left the storyline intact.

I love Halo Anniversary. That by far the best remake of anything I've ever seen!

After Reach, I have more faith in a sequel made by 343i than I would if Bungie were doing it.

They just buckled, so, so very hard.

I'm certainly looking forward to it. They seem to be trying to connect the wider spectrum of Halo lore to the games, now; I think I just read something about that Infinity ship in Glasslands, though I could be wrong (I'll have to go back and re-read it).

However, I don't really like the direction that they are presenting in Glasslands.
Spoiler
I haven't finished it yet, but it seems like ONI's trying to screw things up concerning both the Elites and Halsey, which I don't really care for.

Supposedly they are going to make the story more like the books, or add more stuff from the books.

I found an article that I don't think has been posted

http://venturebeat.com/2012/03/05/11-things-learned-about-halo-4/

1. The progression system won’t just be cosmetic
-an apparently the armor you unlock will affect your character in some way

2. On-screen icons will point out where weapon pickups are…for a special reason

3. Large feel-good text will tell you how you killed someone

4. Halo 4 will be higher resolution (but still not 60 frames per second)

5. You’ll be able to customize loadouts

6. Power weapons may not be on set timers

7. A new bad guy
-“One of the things we wanted to do was really introduce a threat that is beyond anything that Master Chief has faced before,” says Holmes. “It also gives us an opportunity with that threat to add new gameplay,” says executive producer Kiki Wolfkill, whose name alone could take on that role.

8. The return of Halo 3′s BR
- we knew this

9. Mechs?
-It's been confirmed no, but they say we will be able to drive the largest vehicle yet

10. The guy behind Call of Duty’s Nazi Zombies is working on Halo 4
-But this is pretty irelevant as he is the lead campaign designer

11. Multiplayer stages will tell their own stories
- Instead of carving out sections of campaign stages to use as multiplayer maps, 343 plans on having dedicated arenas that will still tie into the story somehow

The article goes in depth a lot more.

I hope the finale is a warthog run.
No "Boss fight", No "Escort" and no "Survive".
Also: Any news on the AR? Anny has rekindled that love for a 60 round clip.

If it were up to me I would make it the 32 round clip, the 60 round is really over powered.

Thats what I loved about Halo 1, everythin' was over powered.
And if everyone is over powered, then its perfect balance.
I prefer that to Reach's peashooters.

It is true! the game itself was crap but it had good controls and graphics so the mainstream clowns got a hard on and so a chain reaction set off in the industry. Mr 3: "lets make dumb, easy to understand & easy to play game with good graphics and we will sell millions!" Mr 13: "mwha ha ha our evil plans are working!" Mr 3: "Yep, treat em like retards and they will act like retards, and we will be rich"

and that is how 313 was formed.
Sorry, this isn't a COD thread, you're posting on the wrong subject.

Not a big fan of those cause I ain't a good driver with a warthog.. A ghost though.. I can run anybody over with a ghost, no matter what weapon you are using; my driving skills with ghosts are awesome.

I started playing this series with Halo 3, it was great once I realised the story at got the jist of it, multiplayer was a create bundle of fun and forge has to be my best feature of any Xbox game Ive played.
Reach was a step up on the somewhat realistic scale that Halo can have, the implementation of jetpack/powerlock/sprint were great features and the Forge had been upgraded to the standard I hoped Halo 3 could of got, I found Reach to be the best one I've played.

To much hate for the DMR because it's not the BR - People gotta realise the game went back [x] many years so they the BR never existed and they just need to learn how to shoot properly with some skill.

- I'll most likely be picking up Halo 4 when it comes out, and when it does I'm going to kick John's [censored] all the way to hell for having that Jetpack integrated into his suit the full time :swear: I could have used that on the last level of Halo 3
Actually, the BR did exist at the time, but, as can be read in Contact Harvest, it is a prototype weapon, which makes me wonder why it was used so often in Halo:CE.

To me his "jetpack" looked more like a little booster thing. And from where it came out of, it seems it could have been there the whole time.
I'm fairly certain that all or most armour types that the Spartans wear have zero gravity manoeuvre boosters, which are most likely what you see in that trailer.

I really think that Halo Wars, ODST, and Reach were bungies get rich quick scheme. I'm pretty sure bungie wanted to be done after halo 3, so when people decided to leave they made those three to get a whole bunch of money for new employees and projects. So I think Halo 4 will be much different than the last two games.
Whoa there! The POS game known as Halo Wars was not developed by Bungie! In fact, the studio that developed it no longer exists.

I almost went to the library today... but then I remembered I don't have a library card and don't feel like getting one. But I will eventually!

And I enjoyed each of their last three games, but I still think it was cause Bungie knew a lot of their people would be leaving, and that they knew microsoft would keep the franchise, so they tried to get as much money out of the series that they could.
I'm just going to throw this out there, I love Bungie. Not for the games they create - though they are awesome, in my opinion - but for the dynamics that go on in the company itself. Despite what some of you may believe, any established video game development company will not create a game for quick cash, they will make a game that they would be proud of. Personally, if I had worked on any of the Halo games, I don't think I could ever be any more proud than the moment that game releases to the public. I'm going into the video game development industry, and Bungie is my first choice for where I'd love to work. You guys know Rockstar(the game development company)? If you've read up about them, they've been having lots of problems with overworking their employees(100+ hour work weeks, and that's NOT during crunch time). Bungie doesn't pull that [censored] on their employees.

Anyway, more on topic. I've loved all of the Bungie Halo games and novels that accompany its story, and I'm very excited for this newest addition to the series even though it's not developed by them. The only thing I have to nit pick is the armour that the Master Chief is wearing. They better have a good explanation for how he ended up in that!

I didn't really like ODST, It didn't feel like...Halo?

Also Halo Wars and ODST are 343 industries game.
Halo Wars is 343's as well as one more now non-existent developer's(Ensemble Studios, who if I recall correctly worked on Age of Empires and Mythology? You'll have to fact check that) game. ODST is Bungie's. The full title of the game is Halo 3:ODST after all.
