I can't wait for the Halo series to die.

I haven't liked Halo since the first. I personally think the series is tired......but the first gave me such joy I always root for it.


Anyway, I didn't think the video was that impressive graphically...especially since they are saying it's going to be the best looking 360 game ever.

I agree with the "tired" part. It has been pretty bland for 5 years. Hopefully 343 will refresh it, they seem to have put a lot of effort into it.

And I think the screenshots are in game, so better to base the graphics off of those I think than the 2 second bits of video here and there.

Seems you're going to have to be disappointed, there is going to be a Halo 5 and 6 unless something extreme happens.

Anyway, I can't wait for it. It looks quite good from what little they've shown. Certainly looks better than Reach.

If I ever get a 360 again I'm going to get Halo: Anniversary HD edition, Halo 2,3, Reach and then 4 all at once. I love Halo it was one of my favorite games on the 360.

Halo 2 was on the original xbox, but it can still play on the 360.

The problem is that every time the few Halo fans on this forum try to have a topic on it people come in and make generally pointless posts like the one I quoted. I don't go into threads for games I don't like and post stuff like that. If you don't like the game, why not just stay out and let the fans be at peace with their discussion?

I can't wait either, and I do hope they improve after Reach. It was nice and all, but it lacked... the heart that the original trilogy had IMO.

I think it looks more intimidating than previous versions. I also read some interview about it (with Frank O'Connor I think) and he heavily hinted that Sigma 7 isn't the first time they had stopped since the end of Halo 3. So he stopped somewhere else and managed to upgrade his armor. Maybe at some abandoned UNSC place that could have also come with the new pistol or pistol upgrade. It would have also had to been unstable and deprived of transportation for the Chief to want to get back onto the broken ship.


Usually after the first few pages they leave and rarely return, like in the Call of Duty thread, many many people here "hate" it (Hating a video game is pretty extreme) and there aren't any spam type posts.

And I am not completely sure, but I think one of the developers said they wanted to make it more like the original 3.

What about ppl like me who have mixed feelings. As I said, I haven't liked Halo in a while but I root for the franchise....as I do this time. Maybe those ppl are like me....they have been let down so many times since the first that they have to express some dislike for the it.

I like a lot of 343's ideas and what they're bringing to this game but I'm probably going to skip this one as well if its released on the 360. I think MS should wait to release this game on the next gen to have a big title for its launch....just my 2 cents.

It's confirmed that it is on the 360. Halo 5 will probably be like Halo 3 too, will release a good chunk into the consoles life.

They talked in the video about incorporating more elements from the novels to broaden the story. I like hearing that as I've always wanted the story in the games to be a bit more fleshed out than they were. Especially about the MC's back story, as I don't think they give very many details (outside of the books). Of course Halo in my eyes has always been primarily an action game, I just think that there is plenty of room for more story elements to deepen the experience.

Halo series= the start of of a new dawn, multiplayer steadily gets better whilst singleplayer gets steadily worse, and halo is the first step in that shift. THAT is why I hate it.

Many would argue that Reach's multiplayer svcked. Not too many singleplayer opinions so I wouldn't know about that. And that fact that thumbtackjake pointed out, where they want to add more books stuff into the game seems to contradict your statement.

I would also say that Halo 3 is the only game that woud fall under your claim. And even if you say its like that for Halo Reach, it is still a spin off, so then I would mention how ODST was almost all story.

So until they release this game I wouldn't use your theory as fact. And the game really just introduced multiplayer to consoles, if that means games multiplayer gets better and singleplayer get worse because a game introduced multiplayer, then you might as well hate games like Doom because it had online multiplayer.

It is true! the game itself was crap but it had good controls and graphics so the mainstream clowns got a hard on and so a chain reaction set off in the industry. Mr 3: "lets make dumb, easy to understand & easy to play game with good graphics and we will sell millions!" Mr 13: "mwha ha ha our evil plans are working!" The whole "mainstream clowns" argument is quite frankly, obsolete and offensive. I own a console, I don't have enough money to sink into a gaming PC so I can join the high and mighty crowd of elite gaming intellectuals who don't have to put up with the dumbed down console games but that doesn't make me a "mainstream clown", and to be quite honest I'm getting sick of attitudes like this toward every single game that gets released.


As for this game, I love the backstory to halo and would love to see it explored in game. First time I've ever been tempted into getting a 360 since it came out.
