Despite fighting a few Scarabs and the ending, it was pretty bland. I don't think Brutes are as good of an enemy as Elites are too, so Halo 3 was a let down there. And it would have been cool to play the Halo 3 arbiter levels, but then too many buttheads ( laughing at my own insults, oh yeah) said they only wanted Master Chief.

I can't wait for Halo 4. I'm also glad that they got rid of the DMR and brought back the BR. I'm so freakin hyped.

Not thinking of that, but rather how it seems that Master Chief simply dies, but that there's still some kind of hope remaining. It sounds cliche, but it works. And true heroes should die.

Interested in seeing how 343 handles the games. The last two games (not including Anniversary), were my favorite in the series, and did a good job at bringing my interest back to the series. There really was never a Halo game I didn't like, but I felt things needed to be switched up a bit by the third, which is why a game like ODST was welcome addition to the series.

The fact that a new developer is at the helm has my expectations rather high. New developer, new take on the series. Not that I am expecting a total 180 for the series, nor do I want that. I just want a bit of a different feel for the games, which seems is going to be the case. Only question is if they can pull if off and will the fans be accepting of what they do.

They do have to do a halo 5 and the 6 first before they do anything with him though.

Halo 4 looks like a joke in all honesty.

I'm not even going to start to talk about the random gun around him, or how his back mysteriously transformed into a jet pack like device, or even to why so much rubble is around the ship.

I'm more or less going to talk about how 343 looks. This company, which I've never heard of, did not do it in for me on the Anniversary. I did not like what happened to the Elites, and even chief looked a little odd.

What will the next series bring? Brutes and Flood? Remember, you are basically team with the Covenant.

So, in the end, this will be interesting but they have to do a hell of a good job to get this done right, and since it includes the Halo name, it's already going to sell many copies, we'll just have to determine how good it actually is

you had to play it on legendary to see them coming up to another
planet cortana says something but i do not recall it
so master chief is very much alive, yes at the beginning he locks himself in a stasis chamber

as for bungie some of their halo games were really not very good such as odst and and halo wars
i have the entire series and read the books

Halo 4 will be faster paced than Reach. Here http://blogs.bettor.com/Halo-4-to-adopt-a-faster-pace-than-Reach-according-to-developers-a134789

Halo wars is not Bungies, and ODST was great, much better than reach.

Wrong, Halo Wars was developed by Ensemble Studios before they closed, and Halo 3: ODST was developed by Bungie. ;)

1. I mentioned before that one of the deb's there said that the chief has stopped a few times before, so that is how his armor changed.

2. 343 was made recently specifically for halo 4, and many of the bungle employees who worked on halo went there.

3. In another interview one of the devs said that the UNSC and the covenant had lost communications with the main forces and are still fighting each other. And there is a new unannounced enemy.

The last Halo game I got was Halo 3 and played the heck out of it. The Halo series is one of my favorite series. But I always wanted to see MC's story, not go back into the past like they did for Reach. I've been playing since the first Halo mind you and know a lot of Halo lore. But I just wanted to know what happened next in the series, not what happened before. Which is why I fell away from the series for awhile. Then 343 says they're making a Halo 4 and I was praying it wasn't another cash in. I got used to the "Bungie seal" on the past games that I got nervous. I don't know, I'll wait and see.

I loved being the elites on multiplayer and adored the armor variants you could unlock. I'll wait on Halo 4 and watch from the side lines just to see what it's like.

@ #1: I don't get what you're saying here, they can't just change him up while he's frozen and give him a jet pack and stuff. My opinion on how he looks is ONLY my opinion, but the jet pack is a major change.

@ #2: I pretty much knew this, but it seems pretty redundant. Why do they have to make a whole new company for a small addition to a series that should be killed and given branching stories?

@#3: I dislike this idea. It's saying "Screw you all the people who played our original series, the Covenant are enemies again." I would rather see brutes/flood as main enemies.

It still looks poorly written, I know this is one of your favorite game series so you're defending it with your life, but my opinion the game looks like an amateur game compared to other games. As I say, games should quit after the 3rd game and start branching its story.

He's saying that a developer had hinted that the MC did not stay in stasis the entire time from the end of the Halo 3 Legendary ending until the Halo 4 trailer. It was hinted that the Chief stopped at some places to re-supply, and that he found an abandoned UNSC station that allowed him to fix up his armor, grab the new pistol and add the thruster to his armor. Between the intelligence of the Spartans, their intimacy with their suits (shown more in books) and the wealth of knowledge that Cortana no doubt possess about the MJOLNIR, its quite plausible he mad some quick fixes/additions.

@#3: I dislike this idea. It's saying "Screw you all the people who played our original series, the Covenant are enemies again." I would rather see brutes/flood as main enemies.

If you read Glasslands you'll know that not everyone is thrilled about this "ceasefire". Not even all the Sangheili are on board. And there is also mention of rebel planets that went out of contact during the Covenant War that could still be at war with them since they wouldn't hear of a truce.

It still looks poorly written, I know this is one of your favorite game series so you're defending it with your life, but my opinion the game looks like an amateur game compared to other games. As I say, games should quit after the 3rd game and start branching its story.

I'm trying not to sound to fanboyish, but you are being a perfect example of people who call Halo bland yet because they don't read the books, they miss out everything while they criticize the story

As for the game, we'll have to wait. I have mixed feelings in that I eagerly await it, but if there are Forerunners in it, I'm going to be severely disappointed. Its like Dwemer in TES. Just no.

Spoiler
I think it may be the Dyson Sphere where Halsey was finally caught, and when the UNSC tried to further investigate it after Glasslands, they messed up big time and the entire thing came back into "our space" in bits and pieces. Speculation :D

After the shift from Bungie to 343, I was going to give up on the series. I planned to get the next two Forerunner books (still need to get the most recent), and then I would be finished.

But damn it, I'm back in!

Your number 3 makes no since. The covenant isn't a race of aliens it is a coalition of aliens and brutes are one of them. And there were no elites in the covenant as of halo 3 so why wouldn't we be fighting brutes. Maybe 343 can save the awful disfigurement that happened to them in reach.
