Halo 4

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 11:48 am

I've always thought that singleplayer was the strong point of the Halo series. I've played Halo 3 story multiple and hardly ever touch multiplayer, unless it's a custom match with friends.
Naw, Halo is all about the multiplayer since 2; although I enjoy the single player as well the bulk of the experience is online. Don't get the hate for Reach multiplayer though I thought it was great.

Well, it has to be. There has to be something to do after the campaign, the story of the games is still pretty good.

I'm sorry your sons love for something has made you hate it?

It may be a public forum but you still have to go out of your way to post in a thread about a specific game. Which if you knew you didn't like, why would you want to post there anyways? You may have a different opinion, but we aren't bombarding your inbox, nor invading threads you read, to tell you about this game.

Don't like the game? Don't post in it's thread.

Really, I went out of my way? That's funny. All I did was scrolled down to a thread that I may have foumd interesting and clicked on it. I read the first post and replied to it. Sorry you don't like the answer I gave but I don't care I hurt your feelings because I don't like what you like.

Actually I found the games quite boring and don't really see the appeal. I got halfway through the first one and was bored, same happened with the second. After that, I stopped playing and buying them. I watch my son play and see that each new game is exactly like the last. Boring. So don't mistake that I hate the game because my kid likes it, no, I dislike the game because I FOUND IT BORING. The majority of you read what you want to read, "Oh, The Tallest hates something because his kid likes it. Let's latch onto that and slam him."

I see what you and a few others in this thread want. A one sided conversation. Sorry, not everyone shares your affinity for the game. A one sided conversation isn't possible on a public forum. The OP asked if anyone else is excited for the new installment. I was on topic and replied that no, and that I'm quite frankly tired of it. It's almost like the CoD threads. I reply in them nearly the same way, but the difference is that most on here also have a dislike for that series so there's no problem. There's a problem here because you and a few others are upset that not everyone enjoys Halo. Too bad. Not everyone likes Halo. I was on topic with my initial post and really don't care that some of you can't handle the fact that not everyone likes Halo.

I started playing this series with Halo 3, it was great once I realised the story at got the jist of it, multiplayer was a create bundle of fun and forge has to be my best feature of any Xbox game Ive played.
Reach was a step up on the somewhat realistic scale that Halo can have, the implementation of jetpack/powerlock/sprint were great features and the Forge had been upgraded to the standard I hoped Halo 3 could of got, I found Reach to be the best one I've played.

To much hate for the DMR because it's not the BR - People gotta realise the game went back [x] many years so they the BR never existed and they just need to learn how to shoot properly with some skill.

- I'll most likely be picking up Halo 4 when it comes out, and when it does I'm going to kick John's [censored] all the way to hell for having that Jetpack integrated into his suit the full time :swear: I could have used that on the last level of Halo 3

I'd be much more interested in the Halo series again if MS did simultaneous PC/console releases. You know, instead of releasing Halo 2 PC 3 years after Halo 2 was released, and then not releasing another Halo PC game since.

Looks like I'm going to have to start reading the novels if they plan on incorporating more story in the single player, don't want to be left in the dark after all

Me too, my local library has all of them, I guess I'll just read them there until I can track them down in stores.

Again I say, I'm very tempted to get an xbox purely for this release, Halo is the only thing i've ever liked about the xbox that I couldn't happily play on my PS3. I didn't get an xbox for halo 3 or reach or ODST. I played through Halo 3 on my uncles xbox and I've briefly played Reach at my brother in laws house. But I love the idea of halo 4, and if it's true that the new games will be focused around forerunners/percursors(SP) then I think that new life will be breathed into the series. The whole problem with the covenant was that visually, they still had that childish look of something you'd see in a Ben 10 cartoon, hopefully the series will feel more advlt with that departure.

And if the Arbiter makes another comeback I will destroy him with the holy fires of the abyss.

... you are like the lover of all i hate! you are my online rival! ... every post you make, my blood boils! ...
This is how I see you.
You're an old-school elitist who seem to think everything that's less than 10 years old and seeks a broader audience than other people like you will destroy everything you love.

I still think I'll pass out on Halo 4 though. I've gotten tired of the multi-player and the single-player in ODST and Reach felt underwhelming.

To me his "jetpack" looked more like a little booster thing. And from where it came out of, it seems it could have been there the whole time.

I really think that Halo Wars, ODST, and Reach were bungies get rich quick scheme. I'm pretty sure bungie wanted to be done after halo 3, so when people decided to leave they made those three to get a whole bunch of money for new employees and projects. So I think Halo 4 will be much different than the last two games.

I'm fine with people disagreeing with the Halo series, and I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with people that post against it as long as it actually leads to a good debate/discussion.

But when I see posts like "I can't wait for the Halo series to die." it makes me think that you're only intention was to get people riled up.

Notice how I have not posted about several people debating the series in this thread? That's because they are actually creating discussion, rather than just plainly stating they hate the series just to get a reaction out of people.

"Oh, The Tallest hates something because his kid likes it. Let's latch onto that and slam him."

That's all the information you provided in that post. Literally. Not once in that post did you mention how YOU found it boring.

Well to me it looked like part of his suit, and parts popped out around the shoulder blades for the thrusters.
I'll watch the trailer again to refresh my memory, either way - I could have used this beforehand!

I'm pretty curious as to how they will explain his new armor. Where did he find the time? Seeing as he's been frozen(or something?) for awhile now.

I wanna know how he survived the explosion that happened at the end of 3 when he was flying away in the ship and it looked like the General and Arbiter were mourning him.

As the guy above me mentioned, if you watch the legendary ending he clearly survives the explosion and then enters something like a stasis pod.

I loved Halo 3. Reach was meh, but at least it had split screen multiplayer. Friends physically come to my apartment, so it's nice to be able to play something together.

Looking forward to Halo 4. 343 - Don't disappoint me. :stare:

I don't get why people have to be such gomies and start hating on Halo.
Go start your own thread and leave us to our series.

One thing that I'm worried about in Halo 4 is the music. Can 343 beat Marty?

I think the music they used in the video was a game song, it was alright but not as good.

I think the new ones, Cryptum and Primordium will tie in with the game somehow. They are about the forerunner, mainly two key figures of the forerunner. I keep telling myself to get them at the library, but I never do.

Read Glasslands. It basically picks up where Halo 3 left off, with that memorial scene thrown in about half way, just to give you an idea of what timeline it uses.

As for the universe itself, one has to simply read the Wiki to see that the creators of the series have put a lot of effort into the thing. The games do not do justice to what they've created story-wise IMO.

For what it's worth though, ODST was one of my favorite games.

"I know nothing except for the fact of my own ignorance." :grad:

As for The Tallest, it's best to ignore him. He seems to drift into various threads, say he hates everything that's ever existed, then drift back out after he's done his trolling so it's best if he's just ignored so that this thread doesn't get locked like previous ones.

I almost went to the library today... but then I remembered I don't have a library card and don't feel like getting one. But I will eventually!

And I enjoyed each of their last three games, but I still think it was cause Bungie knew a lot of their people would be leaving, and that they knew microsoft would keep the franchise, so they tried to get as much money out of the series that they could.

I played Halo 3 with a friend in co-op mode. Took us 6 hours to clear the campaign. Not good combat system at all, but a decent enough game with co-op. Then, Halo Reach came out and improved upon nothing and generally felt much worse than Halo 3. So unless Halo 4 will get some actual improvements to gameplay, I don't see myself playing it.

(Note: I don't own an xbox360 myself.)

Oh there's no question that they were seeing green when they released them, especially ODST. But I actually like ODST more then Reach, both story-wise and for its gameplay. Took me a while in ODST to realize that I couldn't easily bash Brutes down anymore :P

Halo 3's campaign was probably the shortest of all the games, and personally my least favorite campaign.

I hope Halo 4's campaign is better, and just more exciting. The story will probably be fine, so I don't have a worry about that.
