hardcoe Mode Thread #1

Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 10:45 am

This is the thread for all things hardcoe Mode.
hardcoe Mode adds realism and immersion through weighted ammo, starvation, dehydration, exhaustion, over-time healing w/ stimpacks, and only doctors/doctors bag heal crippled limbs.
hardcoe Mode IS NOT A DIFFICULTY LEVEL.

Has it been confirmed whether or not we are forced to go to the bathroom with HCM?

I'm placing my bets on no. How would we trigger it?

Second playthrough for me, the only thing is can you imagine how great it would be if you don't know the map playing hardcoe. Thats the only problem with playing hardcoe second playthrough I will know where to get easy water and food.

While I understand the impetus behind making this thread, if you were going to create it, you should have taken the time to go find answers to commonly asked questions and put them in the main post.

Go to the toilet? No. Drink from the toilet? Yes.

Idea: Like picking between Pickpocket/Murder with Mister Sandman when facing toilet out of combat.

My main post answers most questions, and some questions dont have straight answrs and require discussion. But i see your point, and will attempt to do better in the future.

Well I figured someone had to ask it since I'm sure it will come up.
And as far as I recall I haven't heard any official word on it.
I don't want it, don't think we need it, don't think it fits fallout.
But yknow, just to be on the safe side. :)

So you have to go find a toilet just to take a piss/crap? What happened to the cowboy way? To me, the world is your toilet.

I hope this was all a joke anyway.

NVPD doesn't take kindly to public urinating.

Yes, in normal mode they just fall unconscious.

Here is a question. The OP I think said, that you can turn hardcoe on and off. I thought this was false. While you can start in hardcoe mode, you can turn it off anytime, but once you turn it off, you can't turn it back on.

So what is true now?

Yes, I believe you can turn it on once and off once through out the game, but cannot be toggled on/off. I think.

I heard this today on a podcast, you can turn hardcoe on and off as you please but you only get the acheivement playing start to finish without turning it off
