hardcoe Survival Methods

A long distance shot, from a well covered spot is a very good tactic for taking prey out with minimal risk.

Guys, cool it a bit. Someone remarked earlier about a moderator locking this topic - we don't want that to happen so discuss, debate and comment on this constructively. If it appears to wander off topic a little, don't shout about it and get grumpy (that's my job), just steer it gently back again.

Make poisons, improve your skills to make even more powerful poisons. It's better to strike an enemy with a poisoned knife than stabbing it multiple times helps to keep the knife's condition.

If you're losing a fight, cripple the enemy legs and get out of Dodge.

Instead of shooting mines, disable them and sell for profit. You can make a LOT of caps by only doing this.

If you have low Explosives skill you should be very careful though.
Those mines can blow you apart with ease.

------------------------------------------------

You should always carry around these temporary skill boosts if the skill isn't at 100:
Explosives magazine (for traps)
Sciense magazine (for computers)
Sneak magazine (for stealth)
Medicine magazine (for healing)

Exploiting save-games to get that successful hacking attempt or speech check is a smart move. However it takes the fun of role-playing.

Likewise, save-scumming could give you big winnings from the casinos, giving the hardcoe character a place to stay as he gains a reputation as a high-roller, but abusing it will get you banned.

be unexpected in combat.

just because an enemy wont use a tactic does not mean you should not.

rather than turn a corner really quick, sweep around the corner from a good distance away, weapon ready.

when you are getting out of cover in a firefight, use VATS, duck back in..and repeat.

Guide is getting a makeover at the moment. It will be back online in a few minutes. Please post more Groups to organize your tip in. It would also help if you put were your tip should go depending on the label's. Thanks for the help!

There is no fast travel, so keep in mind how far you're going, any settlements or friendly towns to rendezvous with on the way, and what you are bringing with you.

Keep your friends close, keep your enemies in your cross-hairs.

I know I'm not contributing a tip, but has it been confirmed that Explosive skill will determine the effectiveness of disarming? Because if so, I think that's wonderful :celebration:

Nah not that I know of but it was that way in Fallout 3: "The time until detonation depends on the explosives skill of the person setting it off." -Wikia

I thought fast travel had been confirmed with hardcoe mode?

I don't think so. I remember being able to double tap a button and that was that. I've never set one off while trying to disarm it.

Oh, nevermind, I just read your edit. I guess that makes sense, but I was hoping that it would explode when you actually tried to disarm it if you had too low of an explosives skill. Oh well.

Well I meant the duration before it goes off.
With a low explosives skill the mine goes off rather quickly while with a high explosives skill the thing just sits there and beeps for what feel like an hour.

Yes colours..... Eventually this post will get locked, due to post limit. Why don't you just add a page the the wikia if you want to continue a hard core survival guide?
