How many people worked on this thing? If it was more than 3 I would be stunned, it's terrible.
1: Frequent freezes/crashes. I never had a problem in 260+ hours with freezes or crashes (only froze or crashed every 20 or so hours before) now the game freezes every 30 minutes or so. It's especially bad with loading screens. The loading screen animation will just stop completely... even pressing the power button on my 360 won't turn the unit off! I have to press it a good 10 times to get the system to reboot. It also now crashes during combat as well. The screen will go blank or one solid color (as if I had fallen through the ground) and sometimes a message will appear in the top left of the screen that says "was unequipped." It's especially bad when going into or out of the Lakeview house.
2: Extreme amount of glitches in my houses. The steward offers to furnish rooms but nothing ever gets furnished no matter how much time I allow to pass (despite the gold being taken.) Also, if I furnish manually myself and return to the workbench all of the options for furnishing have reappeared, making it almost impossible to figure out which ones I already have and which ones I still need. I have about 300,000 gold, but apparently I can't afford the 1,000 to have the steward furnish the entryway at Lakeview... not that it matters, that glitch is rendered irrelevant by the glitch that prevents her from furnishing
anything even when she takes the money. That's never a good sign when a glitch is outdone by a another glitch in a DLC with so little actual content. Also, the kids I adopted were constantly bugging me for things so I gave them new clothes. They said thanks and BAM! suddenly they're just in their underwear, standing there like idiots. It would be funny if the whole experience wasn't such a let-down. Including all those fancy display places was also a perfect idea... I wasted a lot of time setting things up and then upon leaving a re-entering my home they're just scattered everywhere, great.
3: Achievements glitched. The "Architect" achievement didn't unlock despite my first house being built completely. It only unlocked after adding 3 wings to my second house.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed in this DLC. Its only about 5 bucks but it isn't worth 1 dollar in my opinion. It's extraordinarily buggy and overall (even disregarding the bugs) not satisfying (and I'm someone who loves to RP my characters and collect and display "Stuff'.) The Dawnguard DLC similarly was just as deflating. Honestly, you design an entire DLC around this Vampire Lord character and he can barely move through a doorway - good work.
My gamertag is Dr Soctopus if you'd like to confirm how much I've played.
I love Skyrim, it's one of my favorite games of all time but so far the DLC has been awful. I'm definitely waiting for reviews and feedback before I DL the next DLC.... these last two have left a bad taste in my mouth. Skyrim itself was a solid 9.8 / 10, Dawnguard was a 6/10 at best and this DLC barely manages to be a 3. At least there was actually something to do in Dawnguard, this DLC is more like an intricate form of Horse Armor. Despite being supposedly ultra-customizable and tailored to a player's specific prefeernces the amount of options are still very limited, there's not a real "extreme" amount of choice or sense of customization when the choices are either A, B, or C and all are cookie-cutter. The houses are bigger and filled with more crap like barrels and dressers and chests but they're still very,
very generic.
