Hearthfire PCPS3 release date Thread #1

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 8:33 am

No Hearthfire on Steam in Sweden yet, but I'll probably wait a while for a better price anyway -- X-mas sale possibly.
I'm waiting for a number of mods to be finished before I pick up Skyrim again, so I'm no no big hurry.

I'll talk to sales folks to see if I can find out why it's not available in the areas mentioned.

You don't have to talk to them. The answer is - 1C Publishing and Cenega (in Poland and Czech Republic).

BTW - do I need Dawnguard to play Hearthfire?

No new DLC updates for PS3 at this time. If we get news to share, we'll let you know as quickly as possible.

Thanks for ..... ?

hmm..more ease to create a lot of buildings, like building a village from scratch? the whole adoption system? we'll see...

For instance, such a small DLC like the Horse armor had several wonderful retex/new models...you just can never know what modder will came with

The building method was done with scripts, and there are already player mods which do the same thing currently. The advantage lies with the player-made mods for the time being as the plaintext of the scripts in hearthfire are not available currently. It is fair to guess they will become available at a later point much like the Dawnguard scripts did. However, now, they aren't, and there are already player-built home scripts out there.

I'm way more curious as to your goingto handle a massive backlash from angry PS3 user who waited for DG and now going to have to wait for HF, We're tired of the same old Song and dance, No update, no news. that not want we want to hear and it's getting very annoying, to hear their no change in the status of DG it's ....it's.......dishearting for some. we want good news not the same BS over and over.

Well, I don't have it yet (I'll buy it tomorrow), but gimme time and I'd tell you what you can ravage from this mod.

To begin with, I plan to make my own personal housemod HF-compatible. That means the children/dog-s I'll have will go there and such.

Hopefully Hearthfire on PC isn't just a straight port and has a lot of the issues that plague the 360 version fixed or at least 50% fixed.

Guess I'll pick back up the PC version of HF for my low level career in the process laptop character. Though I'd rather have it on PS3 for my established, hundred+ hour characters.

Oh, it will be, for sure. Arthmoor is going to be very busy soon :)

Yeah. Didn't show up until Steam was restarted after updating.

My understanding was they were still supposed to be up today, so I'm checking to see what can be done.

Hello Mr. Gstaff, in the event that PS3 users can not get either DLC, could we have a patch that includes Dragonbone Weapons and Arrow Crafting? Surely that wouldn't be hard to implement.

I think we all know that we won't get an answer to this. Pete Hines has responded to it several times with the good-ole-fashioned, "We want to release the whole thing, etc., etc."

Considering the complete absence of DG or HF information for the PS3, I don't think it's too far-fetched to assume we're not getting it or may not get it until the GOTY edition releases (like with Oblivion). Only one month until the anniversary of Skyrim's release. We've come 11 months and 2 DLCs without a single word about the DLC on the PS3. I think it's fair to give up.

Got it installing right now... or I think it is anyway. I bought it on STEAM and my STEAM started glitching out and saying "not responding" so I re-started it and it seemed to be downloading something but when I clicked on downloads it simply said it was updating Skyrim.

on more personal note I hate STEAM. would rather download off a disc. :(

Crossbows would also be nice, if possible. And the adoption system from HF, for us RPing types. If I can't build a home, I'd like to at least turn an existing house into one.

There seem to be many people clamouring for some sort of update from Beth. regarding Hearthfire and/or any other DLC for the PS3... given the seeming unlikelihood of any such thing happening, I thought, to fill the vacuum, I'd compose a plausible one myself:

"Dear PS3 customers

We at Bethesda would very much like to claim, that, if we could travel back in time, and at the outset do the coding for Skyrim in such a way that we could have avoided a repeat of the issues affecting our last three games on the PS3 platform, we would do so. If we are being honest, however, we must admit that the resources required to do so would have almost completely eaten away what extra profit we derived from our exclusivity arrangements with Microsoft. Therefore, although we are saddened by not having a time machine within which to travel back and correct our past mis-deeds, we are not however sufficiently saddened that, should we be provided with one (by Sony tech. support or otherwise), we would make use of it. In parting, we would like to thank our loyal PS3 fanbase for their forty pounds and/or seventy dollars and in conclusion suggest that, if they are dissatisfied with receiving a gimped version of the product, they should hate the game and not the player.

Sincerely, and with love:
gamesas

P.S.: we will be accepting pre-orders for FA4 shortly... see you then"

Best I could do, hope it helps.

I'm surprised that PS3 users aren't getting Hearthfire the same day as PC users. The DLC is much smaller then Dawnguard. I really don't understand why that's not the case, the only reasons that I can come up with, is the optimaztion process is just as bad as Dawnguard or Beth is debating internally whether it's worth it to keep investing in the PS3 versions. I hope it's neither of those reasons and that Beth is going to try to give both at 20 as a sign of good gesture but I'm not optimistic about it or the release anytime soon.

https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/253146631938125826. It has nothing to do with the length of the DLC. They are just incapable of creating the DLC, period.

It hasn't been released in Japan yet. And I can't find any announcements for when it's likely to be. How surprising. :swear:

Well, if I don't get DLC for Skyrim (at least HF), I will have to make a poilcy that henceforth, I can only buy Bethesda games used, and when there's enough used copies on the market that I don't force someone else to buy new. Further, no matter how good a game is, I never mention it to anyone I feel might buy it. Ergo, Bethesda Inc. gets exactly zero dollars and zero cents from me, and they do not profit as a result of my actions.

I can't do without their games, they're too damn good. But I can't lick the boot that kicks me in the face, either.
