Sure hope it isn't about necromancy, haven't played Dawnguard yet, don't have the money at the moment and from what I hear the price isn't worth a few mod assets basically, but I'd rather have something along the lines of Shivering Isles from Oblivion but the way Dawnguard was priced I am not willing to pay $40 for something on that scale.

Dawnguard is basically a mod like Moonpath to Elsweyr, anyone skilled enough could have done something similar to Dawnguard, but of course, when it comes out from a company it feels cooler.

One thing I would like to be certain makes it into any future DLC, and I wish was in Dawnguard, but alas, it isn't, has to do with Radiant rewards.

In Dawnguard, when you complete various radiant story quests (Kill random Vampire Leader, etc) you're rewarded with a Random, enchanted item, which is better than gold for certain.

However, here's the problem, you're rewarded with these items, but they're already the items that exist in the vanilla game. How much better would it have been (Particularly for non-enchanters like myself) if the rewards drew random, leveled enchantments, but on the Dawnguard apparel? instead of the old stuff like Orcish, steel, etc, with your highest armor skill determining if you get Heavy or Light Dawnguard armor.

Dawnguard is basically a mod like Moonpath to Elsweyr, anyone skilled enough could have done something similar to Dawnguard, but of course, when it comes out from a company it feels cooler.

It feels cooler because it's integrated better. And any VA work doesn't seem like second grade performance of Lord of the Rings. Content modding died with Oblivion, once VA started becoming a "Necessity", it effectively made "Private expansions" nearly impossible to blend with the main game. Which is, after all, the most important part of any mod that's based around actual TES lore.

I'd like more gameplay variety.
I was mildly excited for Dawnguard, and the idea of becoming a vampire lord.
I'm not entirely sure how I imagined it would be, but I know I imagined it grander than what it was, not just a gray werewolf that can use magic and hover over water.

There needs be more variety in this game, my first choice for that would be the spears and flails that they demonstrated in the DICE gamejam.
As it stands in Skyrim, there are three types of melee combat, one handed, two handed, and dual-wielding.

This should not be the case.
Your swordstrokes should get progressively more praticed as you level the skill up, to the point where the combat animations of someone with 100 levels in one-handed and all the accomodating combat and sword-perks look nothing like the wild, aimless swinging you do in the game.
Maybe you start off swinging your weapon like you're warding off bees, but my warrior with maxed One-handed and all the bladesman perks should not.

Furthermore, the attacks with daggers, swords, axes and maces should all be distinct.
It should just be in order of how fast you swing, swords and daggers are stabbing weapons (that's why they're pointy) yet there are no actual stabbing motions aside from the finishers.
As it stands, the attack motions are best suited to maces, because you do just wave those around.

The same goes for the "differences" between greatswords, battle axes and warhammers.

Another issue is with the scimitar, as the sword animations are even LESS suitable for that weapon.
Its point curves out so widely, yet my character still manages to stab with the broad curving edge.

At least, with the inclusion of spears and flails, there's no way they could not incorporate new fighting animations.

This is the first I've heard of the "house building" rumor, but I like the sound of it! I would love for it to be a gigantic gold sink, and allow the player to spend hundreds of thousands of gold. I already have about 100k on my character just collecting dust and I have no incentive to earn any more. If they let me build a gigantic tower, fortress, mansion or palace, I will gladly spend everything I have and then go collect more to spend.

I'm sure if it does happen, house building will have tech and size limitations, but I still hope to see it! My Dragonborn really needs a palace to call his own.

I would like some ridiculously costly investment to pour my money into.
I have so many gems that I could not possibly sell them all convieniently, so having some sprawling castle (or (as if) Telvanni Tower) to pour 100,000 or even 200,000 gold into would be cause for me to start selling.

A cheap house in Daggerfall could cost well over 450,000 gold! They should aim for the skies with the price range if they're gonna do a house building DLC.

I hope its a Daedric Realm.. Didn't like Dawnguard.. Since for me it was short and the areas added in were used for like one quest.. Although I loved the Crossbow..

If its not a Daedric Realm add in new lands.. Like High Rock.. Morrowind or parts of it.. I just want land..
most people think its going to have to do with the isle of artaeum and the psijjics.

If they made it so that you joined a secret guild of conjureres and you worked your way to be arch mage of it and make you feel disapointed in the DLC the gwt a letter a few weeks after "finishing" the DLC about a newly discovered type of magic and yoi test it out only to open a gate to a realm of oblivion then the DLC actually starts
Would like replies and comments

I'd like more of a shivering isles like DLC, with atmora! It fits perfectly with Skyrim lore.

I'm a necromancer and I'm ok. I raise dead all night and sleep all day. I welcome any necromancy DLC as long as it fleshes out a necromancer's coven that I can finally join
and add a lot more necromancer's items.

Oh oh, and also adds an actual Necromancy perk tree seperate from the conjuration perk tree.

In regards to the PS3 comments: Yeah, they should release Dawnguard and patch 1.7 on PS3 before they go for next DLC.

In regards to FO3 DLCs: Mothership Zeta was awful and out of place, barely felt like Fallout. Point lookout was absolutely amazing. Broken Steel was so-so, should have been part of origional game. The Pitt was... average.

Hearthfire: I think it WILL be concerning the war, since 'hearth' does often refer to 'home' so... The Fires of Home, which could maybe be translated as Thalmor invasion? Meh, probably off-base and just being hopeful, but a 'seasonal' DLC for Halloween is just wierd for beth, and while I would welcome more magic system customization a spell pack isnt what we need, at least IMO.

The new rumour makes it sound more like a Sims expansion than an TES one. TES is about lore not friggen furniture! Also why even more undead and zombies? We already have zombies?! What on earth is going on in that studio?! Do they even have any respect left for there own product any more?

My one friend at school said Hearthfire is going to be about zombies.. I laugh at this thought but then again, it could be due to the HUGE demand of zombies lately.. Also, it could fit nicely and end up being pretty awesome..

Army of Zombies/Undead = Lich. Right? Lich = Magic. Right?

~Edit~

Okay listen here.. In Hearthfire there is a holiday that is all about the Necromancers.. So what if a group of Necromancer would be all like "***** this man! We should do something great today!" so then they like bring back a powerful Necromancer from the dead as a Lich on this holiday and this Lich will be all like "Argh.. I'm back but I need to rest!" so he rests for awhile until he finally decides to get to his plans... Then he goes all like "I want the power!" and resurrects a lot of different dead things, making an army of zombies, then like attack a town in Skyrim.. Then the Dragonborn will be all like "Oh no you didn't!" then the Dragonborn will like hunt down this Lich and the Lich will be all like "Fear my magic!" while the Dragonborn be all like "Fear my shouts!" and they have an epic battle right there and eventually the Lich will die and the zombies will be all like "Bugger dude..." and die...

I kinda hope it allows you to build your own house. That was one of my favorite features in the Gamejam video. Also, I found http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/278466_306726389425023_1684772794_o.jpg picture a few days ago.
It doesn't really add any new info, but I found it interesting enough.

What I would like to see from Hearthfire (if the rumours are correct):
  • House Building - Definitely, but with the freedom that the Fallout 3 mod RTS offers.
  • Spellcrafting - Who doesn't want this? The ability to make our own spells.
  • More Spells - A return of the lost spells such as open lock, feather, dispel, protect other etc.
  • Levelled Destruction Damage - Should be in a patch really, but I would settle for it in this DLC.
  • Scroll Crafting - The ability to make our own scrolls.
  • Staff Crafting - The ability to make our own staves.
  • Expanded Magic quests - All this could be included in a remake or add on to the College of Winterhold quests.
Then I would be one happy Dovahkiin. :sorcerer:

Well.. We could have a huge magical upgrade while also having the new possible 'zombie' idea.. I mean, what would be raising an army of the undead? A Lich.. And that Lich will be using a lot of magic, no? See where I'm going at?

Plus the whole Necromancing idea would bring house building cause of "Skeleton Butlers"

Great post. I'm not much of a mage beyond the Restoration school but I'd love to see these things added.

The only thing I'd want included that wasn't mentioned is for follower improvements a la Serana to be retroactively added to pre-existing followers, in addition to the Game Jam follower improvements. On a similar note, If we can build our own houses, give us the option to choose a Housecarl to move into it/guard it. The skeletal butler is funny and all, but it would be nice to have a housecarl that didn't... fall apart in rough situations. :nerd:
