I'd imagine someone walking into my room would be enough of a cultural shock that they would be paralyzed. In the event they are an anime fan, it'd be like the monkey who tries to get the fruit out of the coconut, so I'd have plenty of time to stop them in the act :P

Lol, that's a very common misconception. Most claymores (at least, those used for actual combat) weighed 5-7 pounds. But to answer your question, I have several katanas that could do the trick, as well as a couple of broadswords. I like turtles swords.

Remind me never to make you angry.

I have a rather hefty Buddha statue on top of my bookshelf, one blast to the dome and it would deliver most men to Nirvana.
Hello irony, I didn't expect to see you in this thread.

I wasn't referring to claymores used for combat, I was referring to the weight you would need to decapitate. I'm a firm disbeliever in a katana that can decapitate in one swing.

Well, just for the record, despite what movies may say, bone's pretty hard to simply shear through. This is why we have boneSAWs and not boneSWORDS or boneAXEs

I mean... you think the most vital organ to the body would just be limpily attached?
There are tatami cutting mats made to the approximate density of arms, necks, and even torsos. A good swing with a good sword can cut them.

I mean, you think evolution decided the neck should be resistant to razor sharp metal sticks?

If you guys want me to give it a try, I have a younger brother.

Guns.. but where I live it is apparently against the law to defend yourself with any type of weapon. Even if your home is being fire bombed.
Commiefornia? lol, I heard about that. Here in Cali I have to kill the person and they have to be all the way in my house, I think. It could just be that I'll get arrested just by telling the person I have firearms.

No, but there's a reason they used big, heavy axes to lop off heads. Though there are certainly swords sharp enough to lop off a head, doing it with untrained hands in a dark room and the target definitely not wanting to lose his head would make a one-shot beheading difficult. Tatami cutting mats don't move. :P

That's exactly why I said a good cut. I never said he'd make one.

No, thinking that would be just silly. Cold War-era mad scientists made the neck resistant to razor sharp metal sticks.

I have a 9mm, 3 knives and 2 7 irons within arms reach of where I sleep. I also have at least 1 knife in every room of my house. It comes from years of being homeless/living in bad neighborhoods

Just think of the lives their sacrifice will save. At least a couple burglars.

I didn't know the Soviets planned to utilize metal sticks. Those cunning Ruskies.

It depends on the type of swing and what section of the blade you use. You can dramatically increase the power of a swing with a proper grip, plus proper movement of hands, wrists and body.

Canada has a love hate relationship with guns. No gun law have ever stopped criminals from having guns. They only stop the good people from having them.

A man in Canada who legally owns his guns and follows the rules (you have to have them locked up), his house was being fire bombed. So he unlocks his guns and loaded them as he made his way to door. Then the people attacking threw another fire bomb at him. So he fired into a tree and at the ground. Cops come and arrest him! Then they drop the charge of firing his gun but charged him because it was to easy for him to get out of bed, unlock his guns and load them.

I guess he should have just waited for his house to be burned down.

Same with the US really. It's a massive and thriving industry, but there is plenty of anti-gun sentiment flooding the country. I know all about that story, don't need to tell it to me. I read about it a long time ago, scary the way the government wants us all to be so weak and helpless.

Sorry about that, wasn't sure if you knew about it or not. Theres hundreds of stories just like that in America and Canada over the years.

Anyways I think I might have gone alittle to political about the issue so no need to go one about gun laws and such.
