honest hearts,good or bad

Post » Sun Dec 19, 2010 5:49 am

It was a good place to get some good xp and gear for mid-level (level 10-14ish) pushing you up to or past level 20 ready for Dead Money. I really liked the Grunt perk, I now have an excuse to use a pistol on Deathclaws :D. Overall the place is kinda barren in terms of excitement. No significant ambushes or plot twists, just a few straight forward quests and booby-trapped areas, with slightly different optional objectives on how to deal with them. The story is kinda flat, but the possible endings are interesting to see how much of a reverberation your actions caused. Def worth it for the new gear, crafting recipes, XP, and perks tho. Also you can get non-faction Ranger Combat Armor if you look for it (or just use google).

Edit: Animal friend does NOT work after all on the Yao Guai after all :(

Because none of the choices I made had any major consequences. Say you poison the water. The player is literally the only person who gets sick from drinking it.

im glad they broke the ending to the game............it let me continue playing....talking about broken steel

The disgrace to the fallout universe award goes to dead money... HH could have been better but it was good imo

Boo hoo did the collars upset you?

Great dlc on dead money. Best game playing experience of all fo dlc. I m ps3, so I haven t played HH yet. I find it hard to believe it could even compare to DM, but I ll have to put my opinion on hold.

On a scale of -10 to 10 it's 3.
Not bad! If it was bad it'd be -3.
It's just... An okay DLC, it's a bit fun but it's not something I'd suggest to waste money on if you're strapped for cash.

And why is that because its not Pro legion...

Ohhhh talk of Broken Steel. Well to me it told me THE END of the story, which is a very important part of it.

My character was way farther above all enemies before broken steel than after.

One mans "bullet sponge" is another man " challenging enemy "

Why should you have 4 times more hp than almost every other thing in the game.

You not going to just stand in a beat sm overloard in a pure hp battle.

Point Lookout tribals in the mansion not only had big hp, but the had big dam too. The tribals in the mansion may have actually had better stats than your guy.

Fo enemies have a fourm and they [censored] about the biggest bullet sponge of all us. I wish cl was like fo3 PL tribals. Then I wouldn t bash on them so much.

Are the games too easy or too hard????

Dont tell me PL tribals, MZ aliens in battle suits, or the reavers in the presidential metro were easy, because I ll know you don t play on hard or very hard.

More hp is one of the keys in an rpg to a badass enemy actually being badass.

I liked it, could have been better, but it was good for what it was. Worth the price for sure.

At first glance it appears to be much shorter than dead money, but dead money didn't have much of an exploration element. I beat the main quest in 3 hours, but it then too me another 5 or so to collect every single unique item and explore every location, so it came out to providing just about as much play time as Dead Money gave me.

Mostly for the fact that it broke a perfectly acceptable end to a perfectly acceptable game.

Did he or didn t he isn t an end. An ending mean the major plot questions are answered. The first fo3 "endings" and the fo nv "endings" fiasco are not endings at all. They are more questions. Endings of stories dont make questions.......... they answer them.

Endings lol........................ more like to be continued if we re lucky.

Broken Steel told me what happened in the CW, and thats why I loved it. It was very near an actual story ending.

Yep Enclaves FEV wasn t very potent. Only reason we know this is because Broken Steel answered the questions the first " to be countiued" ending made.

Don t start with choices and consequences. I ve killed over 60 NCR soilders Im vilified and they are still green tick marks. I can just walk right up to them and blow them away. The are never prepared, because they should be shooting me on sight.

There are no consequences in fo nv. I back pack who ever I want FTW is not a consequence.

The world isn t like Burger King you are not going to get it your way.

Fo nv questions most of you call "endings" are jokes.

And there are no consequences none. You make everyone win,,,,,,

Tell me a fo nv consequence besides I have no [censored] idea who took control of nv.

I didn't enjoy operation anchorage that much. The outcasts were the coolest part about it, after that it seemed like a chore.

If the player doesn't enjoy technology or energy weapons, I can see why one would not enjoy MSZ, though it's kind of a tech paradise for those who do.

I hear animal friend doesn't work on Honest Hearts, Yao Guai.

Really? i though DM was great. Great stories great Characters and great enviroment...nice change of pace from "go here, get this, kill them." I really enjoyed the feeling of helplessness at the start of the DLC...having to ration your supplies and worry about the environs....In my opinion that is what a post apocalyptic RPG should be...the enviroment should be an enemy as well as.......enemies. Oh well to each his (or her) own.

Yep you are correct, edited my post to reflect it. It is counted is a Mutated Animal and not a regular animal. Oh well at least it will keep the Home on the Range perk good company.

I thought honest hearts was great!! Really great environment really awesome loot the survivalists story was awesome!! There was plenty of random encounters and there's hours of exploration, the only down part for me was the main story was short, but all in all good dlc

It's a great little story DLC. The environment is incredible but I'll definitely be going through it next time with a hardcoe character that isn't level 35 by that point. I liked the cave story, loved the two main tribes, Daniel and Joshua Graham. The quests themselves, unfortunately, were a little boring seeing as how they were just fetch quests.

I think what I really enjoy about this one is the whole survivalist feel of it. It's unique from the main game and also from Dead Money, and I hope Old World Blues and Lonesome Road continue that trend.

Joshua Graham is probably one of my top 5 NV characters at the moment. Although you don't get to find out all that much about him, it was good to see Obsidian subvert the expectations built up by the way his character was supposed to be in Van Buren and gave him a good send-off.

Nice DLC overall. Seemed abit easy, but I did do it with a max survival cowboy character using the Brush Gun + Trail Carbine combo. Guess it was the perfect character setup for the DLC.

...and someone just had to start the Broken Steel food fight.
