Skyrim is simply the best RPG I ever played.. and I really played a lot!! Not to mention, that it even will be improved by modders in the future, too!!
I'm loving Skyrim so much, I'm considering faking my own death IRL. The pros far outweigh the cons. For example, you can ditch that annoying girl/boyfriend who's been nagging you to spend time with them, rather than playing Skyrim. You can avoid the taxman, and therefore have more cash for Skyrim DLCs in the future! You also don't have to worry about annoying social calls from friends - nobody visits a corpse!
15 hours in, I own my first house (fully furnished too), a horse, had a dog until a romp through some ruins, and I'm on the road to Solitude. I absolutely love this game! It's everything I wanted and hoped it would be, and then some. In fact, I'm off to Skyrim right after this post!
There are a lot of things about Skyrim I love that are far better than I expected for an Elder Scrolls game. It's really something new, and I'm glad they let it take six years. Plenty of time to sand things down to perfection.
I'm "liking" it. Never thought I'd say this (especially after hearing Morrowind players complain about it for years), but Oblivion was much more fun the first ten hours. About half of it is the clunky, unintuitive UI. Oblivion takes no prize in that category but it was way better and the Fallouts put them both to shame.
I only have one issue in the character creation screen, the menus sort of got stuck and I had to change them all the time to get them running again. But that's the ONLY thing that went wrong and everything else is pretty much PERFECT.
Loving it, the best thing in my mind is that after 18 hours of play there hasn't been one case where i stepped back and was like "damn i wish there was a mod for that."
Love cannot begin to describe my feeling for Skyrim.
I want the names of the entire Bethesda Team tattooed on my body. I want to tell my grandchildren that every name tattooed on my body is a badge of honor.
Okay okay, i won't do that. Lol!! But yea Skyrim ROCKS!!!!
I am on the 360, was disapointed at first because of the problems of installing to HDD, so uninstalled it, and really enjoying the game. Haven't played enough yet to hate it or love it but really enjoying it for now. Just had my first dragon fight and loved it. Kept dieing all the time, about after 5 or 6th try finally figured out how to do it. My 10 year old son got it on the first time. He is loving the game.
I had one freeze so far and HATE the freeze I get when going into the menus (this could be fixed installing it to HDD) but edging closer to loving the game.
Playing on ultra for PC, if this is the base game I can't believe what the modders can do? Maybe command your companion to ride a horse, rather than attack it? I have to say, so far this game has exceeded my expectations, Oblivion was clearly a dress rehearsal.
it's amazing to see so little negative reaction to this game, even the professional shills who prey on it, seem to be cowering behind the rocks to avoid the dragon's breath?
The only thing I truly hate, is still the weight limit. 300 is just not enough for a heavy armor fighter. Just did a dungeon that I'd have to revisit about 5 times to get all the loot out of it.
I'm absolutely in love with it. Just around 20 hours in and (let me be cliche) I've barely scratched the surface. I've done a couple of the story quests, some of the guild quests, killed a few dragons, conquered some dungeons, played around with the enchanting, alchemy, and smithing, and I feel like I haven't done much of anything. And I still haven't even begun to dig into the civil war questline.
Actually I must say I have been a bit negative about the game since I got it but I played it for a long time today and I must say I actually like it. It has some flaws but it also has it's good sides. Actually everybody is saying they don't like "this" and they don't like "that" but the devs have to make decisions somewhere and they can't always live up to everybody's expectations? The only part that let me down the most is the character creation so far. I'm getting used to the UI so I can work around that I guess. The screen in 1st person feels a bit too small which makes it sometimes a bit confusing to see where I'm going or to actually enjoy the scenery. Other than that I must say I'm not 100% unsatisfied. They put a lot more time in certain details that make the whole game come alive much more than it did with oblivion. Also it feels like they put a lot more energy in the environment compared to oblivion. Oblivion really felt "unfinished" in a way however this game doesn't. Now let's get that Construction Kit up and running!
