So honestly now, who is LOVING Skyrim?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 5:39 pm

It has its issues but i still love the game and when mod tools get released it's going to get better. Obviously Oblivion had much more content and features but that's only because i was playing it with million mods, honestly i didn't even like oblivion that much until i installed mods. Mods are what make these games great.

Playing on PC, all details on max, adept difficulty. I love the game, and I'm playing it for hours and hours. My eyes hurt, and I should study, but here comes Skyrim! It looks beautiful, dungeons are big and awesome, magic and combat is enjoyable.

Of all of this, the people experiencing the problems they are saying is making the game unplayable for them is crappy news to my ears. I'd like them to experience this enormous and beautiful game. I've seen some FPS drops on PS3 but only for a few seconds and that obvious since it's such an enormous game. No unplayable drops or anything.

I'm glad a ton of people replied to this with a lot of good feedback. Really this thread is showing that the few problems or glitches Skyrim has that will be fixed soon (I mean every brand new game has them) does NOT outweigh the stunning greatness that Skyrim is.

Actually I must say I have been a bit negative about the game since I got it but I played it for a long time today and I must say I actually like it. It has some flaws but it also has it's good sides. Actually everybody is saying they don't like "this" and they don't like "that" but the devs have to make decisions somewhere and they can't always live up to everybody's expectations? The only part that let me down the most is the character creation so far. I'm getting used to the UI so I can work around that I guess. The screen in 1st person feels a bit too small which makes it sometimes a bit confusing to see where I'm going or to actually enjoy the scenery. Other than that I must say I'm not 100% unsatisfied. They put a lot more time in certain details that make the whole game come alive much more than it did with oblivion. Also it feels like they put a lot more energy in the environment compared to oblivion. Oblivion really felt "unfinished" in a way however this game doesn't. Now let's get that Construction Kit up and running!

The major problem with Oblivion for me was that the world seemed detached somehow from it's people, it just seemed like a large empty space for things to happen which didn't seem to have much reason for happening except for a few major scripts here and there. So far everyone and everything in SKyrim just seems to fit, something only Bethesda seem to be able to do, and yet still create an open world and unlinear plot.

Love it. Fantastic Game.

It is. We can safely say Bethesda have finally matured and realised their dream. Now where are those f****ing spears? How can they produce a masterpiece like this and yet claim they're not able to create spears? I think they're having a little joke there? lol

This is so boring game. They make oblivion with this s*** gamebrio engine, after that they take (don't know how) fallout ip(one of best games ever) and make oblivion with guns. now again "new" engine lol. visual it is good it is fast but they keep one stereotype in every ip. NO combat system !! so boring. and + console interface = s***. btw in bethesda plays a lot gothic :D

Just crafter myself and my companion a set of dwarven armor ... feel like a serious ball of steel now. Doing Axe&sheild on master <3. Bash, smash, bash, smash, bash, smash ... dead white troll.

tl;dr I am loving it, best game I have played this year. Deus ex can't compare imho.

It has surpassed my expectations. I was holding back my excitement because of the slight let down we had with Oblivion. I do not know how Bethesda have done it, but they found the right stuff somewhere and got it bottled. Playing on an XBox with HD Tv. I have started 3 characters and each time the Riverwood Main Quest started differently, thought it was a bug at first, but realised it was just the game playing out different scenarios. Used to be a PC player and still would be if not for keeping up with the PC hardware cycles, but the XBox experience is great so far, some PC players seem unhappy - feel sorry for those that do because they are missing out on a great experience

I am loving it. Probably 15 hours in. 13 with one character, 2 with another. Bethesda really nailed it with this one. It has the atmosphere that Oblivion was missing. It feels like a real world, not a theme park. I've become more attached to my characters already, just based on the way people react to them. Just can't play enough of it.

I LOVE it.

I have a bug that causes the game to automatically quit to desktop every 1.5 hour, but it's a minor issue.

Sooo loving it.

I just had my first dual dragon battle, that a bear and wolf decided to join. With help from the dragons and my familiar summons the wolf and bear were dispatched pretty quick but I just couldn't handle the 2 dragons at once. At least not that time around. Frankly I was kinda awe struck watching these two beasts take pot shots at each other in-between kicking my ass. Lost track of my health then one decided to land on my head while I battled the other and with a quick breath, dealt the death blow.

Great freaking work Bethesda!!!

If people would just look past the insignificant stuff (Yes, I'd like some of it fixed to.) they'd find a damn fun game underneath. I can't believe people are going to pass up such a fun game because of things like UI issues.

It's just so much damn fun!!

I'm only running into an animation slooow-down bogging like crazy after I've been playing for a long time. It seems to happen when I go through a door. I didn't get the new Nvidia beta driver...would that help? Anyone know? I'm having a fantastic time...it's everything I hoped it would be and more...what an adventure.

Haven't had the opportunity to play too much (4 hours or so up to this point), but from what I've seen, it's astounding. I pre-ordered it back in August, and looked forward to it since... and I've not been disappointed. One single crash playing about 30 minutes in, and that's been it as far as any show stoppers go (sorry folks, forget exactly what I was doing at the time). There are a few little issues, but give it time, guys, everything will get ironed out, whether by Bethesda, or our outstanding modding community. Can't wait for the Creation Kit to come out ;-)

I love it. I spent 21 hours on it since yesterday morning (that's 42 hours ago... you do the math...).

Sure, there are some bugs (keyboard mapping, random crashes, etc.) but they'll likely be solved with the next few patches.

This game has everything I needed.

It's great, but it's also daunting!

Soooo many perks to choose from,
Soooo much crafting to do,
Soooo many skills to level,
Soooo many dungeons to explore,
Soooo many sidequests...

:ahhh:

(At some point "lots of options" starts to feel like "too many options" and you start to get overwhelmed. :D)

On PC here, and I'm astounded at how beautiful the game is!

As soon as I equipped flames on one hand and a sword on the other, I knew that the new level system was going to be OK. You really can play your own way! And the dungeons thus far...OH MY! They're great!
