If an immovable object is in the path of an unstoppable forc

Discuss. I'll be checking back here after dinner to see what creative answers people have come up with. I've never found an answer to this question that sates my curiosity.

The resulting friction from the collision of said objects would cause the incineration of one or both, naturally.

The existence of one immediately makes the existence of the other impossible by definition.

Since the force is unstoppable it would go through it, but since the object is immovable it wouldn't move. Both of these absolute forces are acting in direct opposition to each other thus, as Schnakers correctly stated, nothing would happen. To be a bit more precise a state of nothingness would occur that would most likely cause the immediate destruction of this entire universe, since the only time there was nothing was before the Big Bang.

All of this is entirely hypothetical and ultimately pointless since Defron rightly pointed out why this can't possibly happen in our universe.

My personal favorite idea on the subject;

The unstoppable force stops and the immovable object moves.

Sort of like those ball things, where you lift one and let go, it knocks another one and stops, while the other one keeps going. I see what you're saying here.

As soon as they meet, the unstoppable force becomes an immovable object, and the immovable object becomes an unstoppable force.

Therefore there is really nothing that changes. The end product is an immovable object and an unstoppable force.

The unstoppable force will collide with the immovable force, releasing great Cthulhu into our world because the unstoppable force that collides with the immovable force was in reality the awakening force hidden as an unstoppable force colliding with an immovable force that would hide as an unstoppable force colliding with an immovable object to create such an unimaginalbe power due to the force of a n unstoppable force colliding with an immovable force which releases Cthulhu and destroys the earth from the pressure of an unstoppable force colliding with an immovable force.

In other words, rocks fall, everyone dies :ooo:

The immovable object will not move, but is being transferred to another location. Like when a helicopter is moving a bank vault, the vault is not moving, the helicopter is. :P

Ah the confines of language. The infinite force of anti-fun.
It'd be awesome if something like an apocolypse was the result, however the confines of human comprehension once again spoil the party and prove DEFRON to be spot on.
