Impossible to play a pure Necromancer

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 12:23 am

On a side note, does anyone know if you can raise mammoths or giants?

Holy crap. o.O I didn't even think of that. That would be impressive, having two undead giants tagging along behind you.

Didn't read the thread, just the OP...

A necromancer also has the ability to conjure creatures from oblivion to fight for him when he has no bodies to work with. And he also can use bound weapons. If you are only trying to bring bodies back to life, you are going to have a pretty hard time because dead bodies are usually very weak.

It didnt work with my dread zombie, or whatever the expert level spell is, so ill try with the master level one, here is hoping, cuz apparently even a random wood elf was too powerful for me to revive with my expert level necromancy spell...so my hopes are high. Not too high though >_<

I am a pure alchemist and dying all the time.

I can't throw potions! I can't poison people without using a weapon (why can't I poison food and throw a haunch of horker meat at a troll? hint, troll, hint)

This game is so lame, so limiting!

I can't play a Healer and heal my way through the game! Not ONE giant has a hurt leg that I heal and then he joins me and fights for me - not ONE! I want to be a Restorationist!!!! Bethesda you have FAILED!

lol

As I said, I will agree that the one guy had some valid complaints about the mechanics of necromanting (necromancizing? necromancering?) but then the other dude that was complaining that he had to use any other skills at all was simply being absurd. "Uh, DERP, only nubs ever get hit! I don't need healing or protection spells or armor because I just avoid getting hit! Simple as pie" Yeah, that's ridiculous.

You're being silly. We should all simply point and laugh at this point. The point of necromancy is to allow you to raise dead... there's no promise that a single skill should be able to do everything.

agreed.

Drag a dead body around wherever you go so you can raise it if you need it.

Skyrim svcks because I want to have a character who's a pure thief but it won't let me thief people to death. I should be able to steal stuff from people until they die... Or maybe I'm thinking of a different game called Wells Fargo Executive.

It's possible... I played the entire game as a PURE necromancer on Master difficulty, beat it, and thought it was great.

I finished with a 100 in Conjuration, and all of my other skills were at the same level I started. It was tough to not level up speech at first, but I just avoided buying anything by having my army of undead kill whomever was selling what I wanted.

Maybe you just aren't that good at it? Keep practicing, and I'm sure you'll get it right.

For sure. How many are there, 4? Flame, frost, and storm atronahcs, and the dog... the familiar. There's also the staff that can summon up a badass daedra for 60 seconds. Are there any more than that? Oh yeah, that asssassin ghost who's really cool for about 5 minutes. Then he never shuts up and becomes like an annoying relative who's death is quietly welcomed. After a while I kept expecting him to start complaining that I never talk to him and only call him when I want something.

Flame, Frost, Shock, Daedra, Dog, Flaming Dog, The Assassin Ghost, The shade of a mage whose experiment went wrong or did it?
So eight different summons you can learn.
