Hey guys, remember that time we couldn't wait to use the Kinect?

Me neither.

Well this makes me want to buy a Kinect. Which is the whole point, I assume.

As previously shown in our game jam video, Kinect support is coming soon to Skyrim. Get the details here:

Oh, hell yeah.

I hope this isn't the big news Pete was talking about.
Indeed. If he meant it was big news for Xbox players only, he should have so. An expansion for all platforms would have been big news.

Good for people with kinect I suppose but it's a slap in the face to ps3 users. I won't be using this because this because I don't like motion controls. What we really need is more hotkeys on consoles.

Well, I don't have Kinect so I'm not that excited although I play on the Xbox 360. However, I hope they integrate the Item Sorting for non-Kinect in a later patch or something, hopefully along with Storage (i.e. Chests, Drawers, etc.) Item Sorting.

Just watched the video over at Gamespot. I'm pretty excited about this now. The voice commands on Mass Effect 3 were extremely effective especially with followers. I really like the added commands for followers and the way it is easier to navigate menus, skills, sort items, and select weapons and spells. Gamespot says it will be at least 200 commands. Sounds great to me.

You know I was watching a video on a mod for voice activate shouts and I was like that is so cool. I hope they do that because the mod removed the cool down timer. Kinect on the other hand is nothing but a cop out and has killed some of my respect for Bethesda and by some I do of course mean a lot. Way to drop the ball...Again. I hope this wasn't their big announcement becuase adding something Microsoft pays you for does not count as either big nor exciting but just lame.

OP did just say yesterday that there was some news "just around the corner"..

Pretty lame to tell EVERYONE that you have news that only affects a small portion of your customers..

I for one am rather disappointed with this announcement. I play on xbox 360 but I never wanted a kinect. I've tried it on a friends xbox 360 and am not overly impressed with it. I wan't cloaks darn it. I don't want to have to learn 200 voice commands to play a game. I hope this kinect fad gets over quick. How many xbox 360 users actually own a kinect? How about fixing more bugs instead of screwing around with kinect stuff that only 0.000001% of your loyal fan base will use. Priorities much?

Yet. With the incentive, that'll probably change...
Yeah, I'm sure all of them can't wait to shell out £99 for kinect...

I don't know why they took it out in the first place, oblivion and fallout 3 both had it and it made scrolling through menus easier.

Now for me that play on xbox, being able to give all those commands on the fly is a real plus. Specially the commands that function like hotkeys, since xbox only has 2 right now. Also, it will be cool to be able to use all the shouts on the fly, as the only reason I don't use them now is because I hate bringing up the favorites menu during combat.

I am buying myself a used kinect, for sure.

if this kinect system works without bugs, i will buy it just for skyrim.

that is some serious gameplay creativity and advancement.

i just think about how great it would be once you practice and master the system.

you don't have to freakin flail your body about. i can just sit there and command.

love the idea and the risk it takes.

if it works properly, i'll get it in a heartbeat.

So, now you can spaz out in front of your TV while fus-ro-dahing something. Awesome?

I don't get the whole "new generation controllers". They have their place, but... meh.

um, did you not watch the demo.

one of the biggest selling points for me is that i don't have to spaz out.

instant voice command for all of the aspects the video showed is pure sweetness.

Okay, the 360 get stuff that PC users have to mod for. Do we at LEAST get voice command support based off the 360 Kinect integration for PC?

Just wow, G. Bethesda keeps raising the bar on itself and with the amazing creativity and talent it has, the possibilities are mind-boggling. I hope you're all wearing shades. Fallout 4 jumped into my head for some reason and the imaginings are continuing. Thank you for the news...and I don't even own an Xbox. Skyrim just keeps getting better and better. :tes:

What changed Todd's mind? Pre release he was saying how he had zero interest in the Kinect for Skyrim. What happened Todd?

oh man, i didn't even think of applying it to fallout and other games?!

very nice.

this feature will, literally, make me eventually go buy a kinect.

as long as i don't have to move my body.

when i want a workout i lift and run.

What happened was an employee figured out how to do it for the gamejam, they tried it, liked it and he and probably changed his mind.

Is he not allowed to have an evolving opinion of things?
