JaySuS Mods for TES V: Skyrim

v13 esm is reported as having a corrupt/incorrect version header by Wrye Smash. I suspect this is due to not being made with the ck.
Also, changing the plugin to esm means people will now loose all their lovely swords now, won't they? As they were dependant on the .esp file in their save.

Yeah i guess so, i hat to remake my characters beloved Legendary Magnificent Sword...but since my character was standing next to the Riverwood Smith that was very quickly solved. :D

ya sorry for that but as an esm i have more options in regards to plugin files and user mods... due to the CK EULA i couldnt allow modifications for JSwords.esp but plugins for JSwords.esm are fine i think ;)

lol thx for pointing it out :smile:
added them on the 4 new swords... step by step...

Ahh, it is an involved process? I have no experience in it, so apologies if asking for them on the Legionaire's sword was asking too much. :)

Do you know what could be the cause of this http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w172/Illius_photos/Mod%20Problems/Skyrim/WryeBashwarning.jpg that Torrello already mentioned? I get that warning every time i start Wrye Bash. (And i assume Torrello as well. )

I think it's just something really simple and silly like a TES4 header or something. Seems to be an issue with mods made not using the CK (god thats bad English) and is something TesSnip can fix in 2 minutes. I did it once for a follower mod but can't remember what needs changing and the thread telling me have long gone now - if it's even this issue anyhow!

Regards the esm, obviously it up to you JaySus what you do with you mod, and I don't mind particularly as I wont loose anything, and it also may help with further/future development to have an esm file (like deadly dragons have done) but I don't really follow your concerns regarding an esp made by the ck either. Is is that if it's made by the ck someone could upload it to the workshop and you can't do anything about it as its owned by Valve! If so, thats mental and mega svcky :blink:

Actually, Gstaff himself mentioned that if someone's work is uploaded without authorization to the Workshop you can e-mail them (Both Bethesda and Valve) and ask the removal of it.
I'm not asking you to upload to the Workshop Jaysus, I'm just trying to get you to use the CK for the good of your fans. :D

I do have one issue with both the v13, and v13b versions.

When loading Wrye BASH I got a corrupt file warning on the esm file. Checked it out wit TESnip and the HEDR file version is 0.85 (Oblivion setting), instead of 0.94 (Skyrim Setting).

After I changed it, I got no further warnings and everything worked fine.

@WyreBash
no idea why you need wyre bash, there are no lvld lists in the jswords.esm, i add those in the plugins once they update sykrim and fix the AddForm function...

anyway, wyre bash gives you that warning just as the CK would for two reasons, for one did skyedit or tessnip fill out some blank spaces that should be kept blank with 0s and hence get registered as error, tho it doesnt really matter as 0s dont really mean much and for another does SkyEdit or Tessnip add more headers to a file than the CK or wyrebash can see, hence once you load the esm or my esps with wyre or somin you get a warning that there are actually less objects inside the file than there are, nothing to worry about tho, its just a formality, for another do "normal" esm/esps use the unidentified 00000080 in their header which sets the mod to use the strings folder instead of the names inside the mod, which might be good for translations but i dont get how they work yet hence deactivated it for now as not to have the user mess with even more files as the 2 files i got atm obviously seem to be too much for some yet if i look into my comments...

edit: ya that file version (oblivion/Skyrim) could also be that... tho afaik i have it set to 0.94 yet... mmh... weird...

@ESM
in short: to use the CK i have to sign the SW EULA which states somin along the lines of "if you make your work available in some way we can do whatever we like with it and even use it to sell nazi propaganda if wed feel dikeish enough, you cant do jack against that"
they dont specify what "making available" means, one would think "uplaoding to SW" but it could even mean "making it available to grandma or myself"...
since this is not clarified and i am in no mood to go to court over it with valve or bethesda or some user who may use the CK to mod my mod and hence hand my rights to a 3rd party automaticly i had to make this step, this way the CK and SW EULA only gets signed for the plugin which does not contain my assets, only links to it, hence i keep my rights no matter what the EULA is supposed to mean or how it could be interpreted... sure they can still do whatever they like with my quests, scripts and stuff but at least my models and textures should be safe lol...

apart from that is is indeed much easier now to create plugins for my mod, be it lvl list distribution, a shop somewhere, a quest, different balancing or whatever... and everyone can make their own with the easy to use CK without stepping on my or their or beths toes

esm is definitely a step in the right direction, thanks JaySuS.

Incidentally I've just finished making an esp for your mod which adds some levelled lists the old way - then I can merge with Wrye.

WTF! I need Wrye Bash (or wrye smash) for loads of reasons, namely installing mods, merging etc etc. This mod might not do anything with levelled lists, but its still in the data folder.
Anyhow, thanks for the update :D
