The random distortions part sounds like Silent Hill: Downpour.

No one complained about the live action Skyrim trailer...

(Is it just me or does it seem like we can't have an Evil Within thread without pulling Skyrim and Fallout into it, can we? :/)

That came at the very end. After we already had a gameplay trailer and tons of interviews, previews screens, E3 demo, etc. And yes, there were actually some people who complained about it saying Beth's money could have been spent better elsewhere, the Dovahkiin was too skinny, etc.

I actually complained in real life but I didn't bother to make a post about it back then, either too lazy or too unmotivated.
Also, what Jackie said.^

And I just used those as examples because I was more involved with those two's pre-release information than I was about Borderlands 2 and RAGE.
Best way to show why I am cynical about it is to give examples of what created it.
(I'd prefer it if people did not turn it into something about Skyrim and Fallout as well. If you're gonna respond to my previous post then respond to the things I'm criticizing; pre-game release information, screenshots and trailers.)

[edit]

Actually the screenshots did confirm an over the shoulder type of aiming for the game, but there are screenshots showing the front of the character and one that is like 4 times far away from the character so I have no idea what to make of those screens.

Fully agreed. Silent hill the first one was the last true game that had me scared.
less actiony, more silent hilly! (1st silent hill, not 3rd+)

I'm interested in hearing the story. What makes a good survival horror is the story in my opinion. There needs to be a good reason for all this going on. They nail that, I'll be happy.

Those screens look good, interested to see Bethesda try their hand at this genre.

Nice, thanks for the info I really do like how Bethesda Softworks is growing into their own as a publisher. You guys have formed quite a nice stable of devs.

The only thing I care about is does Bethesda work on it or just publishes it.

They're only publishing it. We still don't know what this "new project" that Bethesda Game Studios left Skyrim for is.

Do you know what's funny. There isn't any information out except a live action trailer and some screenshots. Which means no one can't say anything substantial about this game. Including you.

There isn't anything to be cynical or to be criticized at. It's a tease (to help you understand what's going on).

Your post shows a lot about yourself but absolut nothing about the game.

It's a mix sorry I was a bit inaccurate. I meant that it isn't ingame footage and is also not presented as such.

I'm not a fan of horror/survival games at all but this looks very interesting and like an intense experience. I'll probably end up buying it.

I'm not a fan of anything horror, but the plot seems interesting and could sway me.

Gonna go ahead and sig that.

I don't understand your reply to me.
I'm not criticizing the game, I'm criticizing the use of CGI and live action trailers for a video game as well as pre-release screenshots and developer tidbits.

So they just cut>copy>paste>clean-the-edges>shade?

Are they allowed to do that?
