Looks intriguing. I like the action horror genre so long as the emphasis is on horror and not what the recent Resident Evils have become.

Distortion in real time? Cool, better be cooler than Amnesia's, which just does literal distortion.

Tech [censored] 5!!! I'm glad they're making sure to prove tech5 can look next gen, and that advanced lighting is used, which I'm guessing will be at least mostly realtime like it should be

That creature that came out of the blood creeped the hell out of me, I'm very excited for this game.

WarZ stole countless things, and if anything something tells me the whole reason they did this was as an inside joke, to make fun of WarZ as being a generic "horror survival" game. It's a perfect well thought-out joke, if you ask me

I do love horror but in general I consider dead space (1 only) a good mix of horror/action. If it is more action orientated, I am not sure I would even bother mentioning horror in describing it.

This game looks good so far, however I don't put much stock into what I have seen considering all good horror needs a cohesive story or otherwise breaks immersion and the bad-guy protagonist thing seems cliche in the genre.

So I have a number of concerns. It could be good though, I will just have to wait and see.

No, the people want FALLOUT and while we're here I'm going to pull some Dishonored because Knife of Dunwall is a masterpiece.

At least it looks like I'll be able to sneak around, but what good is that against these demon looking things?

Well, if they can't smell you, sense you or see your body heat then hiding behind a desk and waiting for it to pass you by into the next room could be a good way to avoid getting hurt.

I'm guessing you're suppose to run away, and hiding won't help. I'm thinking that's part of the intense action yet horror gameplay, where you have to sprint for your life to get as far away from that thing as possible. Just a guess

Id Tech 5? Very interesting. I really like the engine and the screenshots look tasty.

But... it's a third person perspective game, kind of eliminates the horror when I'm not afraid some monster is going to jump at me but at a character that's covering the whole left side of the screen It was kind of funny, by the way, when playing Resident Evil 5 demo - some zombies or whatever, killed me because I didn't see them... because the view makes it so it's impossible to see what's on the left side of the playable character I focused on an enemy in the front and had no idea something was attacking me from the left.

It would be nice if the game had the option to switch between first person and third person, like TES and Fallout 3/NV, but since this is not a BGS game, it's highly unlikely. I hope there's going to be a demo version...

PS: this looks promising (first person perspective), but is most likely from a cinematic http://i.imgur.com/wKfWP2P.jpg

edit - okay, just found out I missed a thread about this specifically here http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1456258-over-the-shoulder/ - maybe a moderator could move my post over there if it doesn't fit here.

so that guy with the safe on his head really gives me a pyrimid head vibe, and apparently im not the only one. idk if im going to be interested in the game. However, bethesda isn't actually developing the game are they? its tango gameworks that is right? Im only confused because i thought that they used zenimax's name when publishing. Or are they using bethesda because its more recognizable than zenimax to consumers?

I don't understand. You mean zombies? Or that their poses are so similar?

A return to the glory days of Silent hill 2 for the survival horror genre?

Fingers crossed.

I am pretty excited for this game. I didn't even know Shinji Mikami was part of the bethesda family. Personally I didn't like the Resident evil games But I do love the fact id tech 5 is getting into other developers hands. This will allow the engine to grow immensely and help most of Beth studios to concentrate on making a good game while id software worries about the tech behind it.

I don't mean to be a party pooper, but I confess the released images, storyline and gameplay architecture do nothing for me.

If the game is a big success and people rave about it, I'll need to consider trying it. But I must confess that the games I've enjoyed the most over the last decade are all RPG with open worlds. It's become impossible for me to take an interest in anything different. Perhaps I'm being too stiff necked and am missing out on some great gaming, but my preferences are pretty set at this point.

No, they are using Bethesda because Bethesda Softworks is a publisher, not a game developer. They are not the same as Bethesda Game Studios

Just like Rage wasn't made by Bethesda, nor Dishonored, as well as Prey2 not being developed by Bethesda, and probably others too. But they all say Bethesda

Zenimax Media is the overarching company at the top, which owns Bethesda Softworks that does all the game publishings. The TES/FO development team is Bethesda Game Studios.

The Evil Within is being developed by Tango Gameworks.
