Maybe because it's just a game and not intended to be your virtual dating experience? I wish they would never had added this feature- keep companions, heck, let one of them move in and cook your meals. The moment they added romance...this stuff happens.

There is no romance in this game. Bethesda's marriage option has absolutely no romance involved. You have a companion who you marry then you get the you wake up in the comfort of your lover's arms. Where's the romance in that. The only good thing about it is that they won't leave even if you leave them home.

*walks inside to store something in chest* "Hello my love, back from another adventure no doubt!"

*Walks out* "Yes my love?"

*Goes to alchemy lab* "Hello my love."

It's the same thing over and over again :pinch:
First time my wife moved in, I went to do some alchemy, and she comes in and sits right next to the table. "Yes my love? Yes my love? Yes my love? Yes my love?"
This marriage is SUFFOCATING ME.

I find the whole in-game marriage thing pointless, but if I had to choose, it'd be Angi, the archer trainer. The character fits with the game. The location fits with the game.

Ysolda is a hottie. I wonder the testicle if she can be married.

I nearly coughed up a lung laughing at that.

I didn't think there was much choice either. My male character married Aela the Huntress, but he knew he wanted to marry her the first time they met. Aww.

Aela.

This is what Aela looks like with the warpaint removed via the console:

And Azura, I mean k, it's only a statue, but there has to be a way.... *starts thinking*

Also regarding real marriage options: Mjoll and Aela, the camouflage makes them only hotter!

I know you're talking aesthetics, but I'm in the camp where if they were a bit more fleshed out then maybe my character would feel something for a character and then marry them - male or female. But there's nothing really.

The only hot woman in this game are the ones who can swing a sword and shoot straight with a bow, they're totally useless for anything else, one hot meal a day huh?, my character can hunt and cook.

This.

Aela seemed somewhat fleshed out, but the moment you marry her, she becomes a sedentary home decoration I can sell things to or a fight liability. And opening a shop?(In my home?) She's a hunter, why did she suddenly decide her years of hunting make for good business experience?

Are you saying that half-naked cartoon people with eyes only a tad smaller than their boobs are "good" characters?

Stereotypes. Stereotypes everywhere.

I'll stand by my statement in another thread, Bethesda turned yellow on the marriage thing, they didn't want to put the frighteners on their new audience, and certainly some old timers.

This happens to be my opinion as well. I wanted to help Ysolda start her inn and fulfill her dreams :nope:

At least it would've been something else to spend my money on!

The repetitive "My Love" always gets somewhat creepy after a while. Especially when your husband is a male orc.

There's an extremely attractive bard/waitress in Dawnstar. I was really upset when I found out she wasn't available, even though all she does is work day and night.

On my first character, a female warrior, I chose Aela. When you first meet her, she's way out of your league, being a leader of the companions. Not only that, she's such an untamed spirit, not even the leader of the companions could rein her in as she relentlessly hunts down the Silver Hand.\

But at the conclusion of the Companions arc, you're made the new leader, and she's now available. So I married her and now she cooks for me, runs a store, and still finds time to accompany me on my adventures. I tamed Aela the Huntress! :celebration:

Oh and it's really convenient to ask her for a mission, bring her along for the kill, so she'll be right there for you to hand it in when it's done, and then ask for the next one, and rinse and repeat.
