Mass Effect Thread #58

Spoiler
James Vega is a nice addition to the team. He makes up for it IMO.

Spoiler
Vega can't be my character's waifu...or mine...

Ugh, now I see what Pistolero sees. This thread's no fun when everybody else is playing ME3 and you're not. :meh:

I was doing the From Ashes DLC and it crashed last night. Since it was right before bed, I just figured forget it, I'd saved just before a cut scene. THen loading the game now, it did the exact same thing at the same spot. Grrrr... but huzzah for the internet. It's a known issue but some guy figured out how to get past it - as soon as the cut scene breaks, hit shift to bring up the HUD, and it got me past.

I am enjoying this game very much so far.

Regarding the whole
Spoiler
Jack reappearance.  I really like what they did to sort of shape her after her involvement with Shepard.  Made me like her now and wish she was in the crew.

Spoiler
he dies that makes me very very sad, nothing you can do, it does not matter what you decide about the cure he dies and if you have Wrex and decided not to go with the cure he will later confront you.. and others die as well such as the rachni queen that i allowed to live will die.. i do not know how many others.. but i am really upset about mordin

Spoiler
I'm a pretty solid guy when it comes to emotions and what not, but I teared up a bit when Mordin died, and when I got the letter about Kal'Reegar sacrificing himself for the Turians, and I was pretty sad when Legion sacrificed himself as well. This is a very emotionally traumatizing game

Pistolero is going to hate this.

On that note, anybody want to pass over their Origin tag? Simpson and I have been playing MP together, and we could use a couple more.

asapp1520 is mine. I'll play some online in a minute, might as well get my galactic readiness up to 100% before I charge off and tear the reapers to shreds.

Replayed ME1 and completed it and it's night and day from what ME3 is. ME3 has better Combat but ME1 has a much better story and is a better RPG. Hopefully I can get ME2 done in 20 hours.

If I play ME3 multiplayer online what are my chances of some troll screaming spoilers at me before I can mute them? Haven't tried multiplayer yet...

So I think after I finish ME3 I'm going to download the motion comic DLC and replay through ME2/3 with all my original choices... Some things have happened now that I really wish would've been different.

Rented this, put it in, and was reminded of why I never buy anything EA touches. I figured I'd already played the last two (before I started to despise EA), so I might as well svck it up and play this one, as well.

Nope.avi.

Scumbags, the lot of 'em. The only tears I'll shed the day EA closes it's doors, will be tears of joy.

I re-purchased ME1 and ME2 for PC (Had ME1 for Xbox and ME2 for PS3) just so I could do a complete import from ME1 to ME3 on PC. It really gets deep when you do that. Things start popping up that you forgot about and then it's like "Whoa..."

Makes it a whole lot better than just going with the generic choices.

Don't mind me - I'm still finishing Mass Effect 2. I just 100% in the Omega cluster, as well as the same cluster that Zaeed's Loyalty is.

You can use the mission terminal in the Spectre HQ on the Citadel to grant Ken and Gabby pardons.

What exactly is EA doing wrong? Every game they put out is pure quality, if they want you to buy it new, so be it. Complaining about them excluding features to those who rent it, borrow it, or buy it used is like complaining about a used car not being as shiny and nice as a new car. You get what you pay for. And the From Ashes (day one DLC) is awesome. Shows you what happened to the Protheans and the Prothean character is pretty epic.

So I have the PC version. The multiplayer is good, but there's absolutely no communication. Barely anybody speaks and the lack of any sort of text chat makes it impossible to ask what the other players in your lobby would like to do.

How am I to know if they want to play Bronze or Silver? Okay, I'm going to guess Silver. Oops, somebody left, I guess I chose wrongly.

Yeah, that very true. Don't know what they were thinking when they didn't put in text communication on the PC.

I am really enjoying the multiplayer though, despite my initial misgivings about them adding it in right as the trilogy ends. The store system is very interesting and original (or at least I've not seen anything like it) and I GET TO PLAY AS A KROGAN.

In ME2 during the character creation screen there is that code at the bottom. Does anyone have a good looking femshep they would be willing to share cause I can OT for the life of me make a good looking girl in this series.

No one will answer my question......not even on BSN.

Why will Biotic Charge sometimes not happen even when a guy is right in front of me, targetted and theres no cooldown.

And is Reave useless against synthetic.

How are we to know why? Glitches, perhaps? Maybe there's a minimum distance? Who knows.

If it's in MP then it can be anything from bad connection to the host, to lag, or to your controller buttons being shot.

If in SP, then if it's not a controller error, then its a good ole-fashion glitch.

As for Reave, idk what to tell you in lieu of the fact I have no idea what it's supposed to do in the 1st place.

Ok people one thing does not make sense to me in ME3. How come if I choose to be a soldier I have the choice to unlock biotic powers for myself, when I am not a frikkin biotic. You couldn't do this in ME1 or ME2. I have the option to unlock and use Slam to me makes no sense whatsoever. Now suddenly Shepard can be a God and use any weapon or power!?!?

Big spoiler don't read unless you've finished the Quarian part of the MQ.

Spoiler
I can't believe Tali killed herself after I choose the Geth. I mean I figured I could of brought peace between the Quarians and Geth like I did with the Turians and Krogan but those moronic Admirals kept attacking and caused the obliteration of their race. Just as Tali takes off her mask and I think I'm going to see her face she jumps off a cliff. Sequences like this make the game great, I really regret the choice but it seemed like the right one since the Geth are so powerful.

LOLOLOLOLLLLLLL - Yes you can.

In Mass Effect 1 - (X Biotic) Specialist achievement allowed you to use that ability on a new character.

In Mass Effect 2 - (Advance Training) For characters who's loyalty you've gained you can gain their "loyal ability". Miranda is slam for example.

I don't think it's a glitch. B/c it happens in multiplayer and SP. When it doesn't proc or whatever theres a sound like "nope can't do that now" type sound. And the icon on the action bar lights up as if to say "We get that you want to use Biotic Charge but are experiencing difficulties right now....please check back another time."

Well, you failed at being a diplomat then :hehe:

Spoiler
In my case a peace between the Geth and Quarians was finally agreed upon, and the Geth allowed Quarians to move back to a shouthern continent of their homeworld. Tali was there to the end, as was the Qurian and Geth fleets. Legion, unfortunately, had to sacrifice himself to make the rest of the Geth self-aware. And someone (can't remember who ) made a suitable comment afterwards "I've never before seen someone end a war by shouting." :lmao:
