Please keep in mind that this is to be a civil discussion about the Mass effect series, not a crucifixion of Bioware's development team.

With spoilers very much rampant make sure to put them in a spoiler to not ruin the game for people. The spoiler tags can be used like so [spoiler r] and the matching tag would be [ / spoiler] with no spaces and removing the extra r in the first tag. Below is an example spoiler.

ALSO - In respect to povuholo, as well as the players who are reading thorough our thread, trying to avoid the details of the ending, a thread specifically for the endings has been created. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1361223-mass-effect-3-ending-discussion-thread-3-spoilers/. In light of this, it would be greatly appreciated that you do not post discussion of the ending to Mass Effect 3's ending here.

Thread Rules:
  • This is an ongoing topic for discussion about Mass Effect series, so keep the discussion on the games.
  • It is understandable if you don't like Mass Effect games. We have no problem with you sharing this, but this is an ongoing topic. As such, it is primarily based on the positive aspects of the games, so if you don't like them don't post.
  • This is an ongoing discussion and some people don't like Mass Effect games. If you try to provoke them it is just as bad. If you do disagree with someone, please don't drag it into a fight. This topic is primarily for what we like about the games and our ongoing experiences.
  • Respect forum rules. If you are unclear review them here.
  • Respect for other forum members is perhaps the most important. We all have opinions and we are all human beings. Treat each other with respect.

How do I get my N7 up? I have a level 20 Vanguard and my N7 has been sitting at 29 for quite a while?

Either make a new character or promote your vanguard.

20's the cap, yeah. You gotta either restart the levelling process or start a new character to raise your N7 level further.

Yeah, you get a N7 level bonus for the act of promoting.

Nice. I also got a trophy and more war assets. If I create new characters in the other classes will my N7 go up more even if I just stick to the Adept i'm rolling with now?

You gotta level up characters (and once they hit the level cap, promote them) if you want them to contribute to your N7 level. They don't contribute just by sitting there and doing nothing.

No, I meant that i've unlocked new characters with bonus XP through rewards packs. They've boosting my N7 just from creating a new character in the specific class .

Each time you gain a level in an MP class, your N7 goes up 1. Each time you promote, it goes up 10. That's how N7 rating increases.

Funny how the only, the ONLY species to prepare for the Reapers was the Geth.

Well, they were contacted by Soveriegn who made their intentions clear to them. As synthetics they also don't have the Council's "La-la-la, i can't hear you!" reaction :teehee:

Well I'll be, I actually felt a little for the Geth; alas, the Quarian's wouldn't play nicely. [censored] Admiral Gerrel, I never liked him in in ME2 either.

EDIT: My fault as Legion and Tali were dead I guess.

Finished Mass Effect 3.

Spoiler

Ending blew. I chose synthesis - since none of the choices made very much sense. I don't buy indoctrination theory. If starchild was lying there should be an indication of that before I make the choice or it's just a cheap 'gotcha.' Also, why would the paragon/non-indoctrination choice 'destruction' allow the annihilation the geth and EDI? That's not paragon.

Also, looks like the fleets of every race in the galaxy are going to starve to death in the Sol system. Unless a wrecked Earth can grow food for Turians and Quarians. Which I doubt. Or unless Krogans eat everyone first.

Edit: The ending thread is locked so there is nowhere else for me to post :sadvaultboy:

Preying Mouth? Yes, that had an interesting tidbit. A bermuda triangle, IN SPACE!

I wonder if something happens if you probe it. I've never bothered probing gas giants.

And thank you, Pistolero, for mentioning the Charge + Nova combination. Playing Vanguard just became 50% cooler  And dangerous

Because, they're trying to trick you by making you think the destroy option leads to chaos, and so it is renegade, not paragon. And remember, with indoctrination, it isn't really happening. A dream. So the destroy option is nothing more than representing you breaking free from indoctrination.

If it makes you feel any better we're allegedly getting new content to make the ending make more sense. I'm not entirely sure if they mean a new ending, or DLC to try and make sense of this garbled mess. If it's just [censored] DLC to make sense of a dumb ending I won't buy it. Ruins the whole series re-playability that ending.

I'd agree, but. . .

If the game outright lies to me it’s not a paragon choice. Press the red button and all the geth die. Press the green button and something unknown will happen. Okay, I’ll go with green. HAHA! That was a lie. The geth would have been fine. You’re weak-minded Sheppard. You should have gone with red.

Edit: Any DLC would make it even more garbled.

Trying to control the reapers is the opposite of paragon shep. It wasn't presented as a paragon option. The ends never justify the means under the game's otherwise consistent paragon logic.

How is it "the end justifies the means", you've already done whatever "means" you want to get to the end. No skin off my nose, waste the Geth or force some mutation on people if you like; who's to say what a Shepard controlling the Reapers would do? In-fact really that would be entirely up to you.

Isn't it also true that the Control ending is the only ending which doesn't include a specific shot of the Charon Relay exploding like the others do?
