Although It doesn`t look like at first, this is a very interesting question my friend. And I couldn't agree more with the Fallout feeling you have. They rescued some of the original developers for New Vegas. Many of the Obsidian crew in fact. One thing I dont understand at all is, after the perfect harcore mode of Fallout New Vegas, why don't put it in Skyrim? What the hell is the food for then?
I completely agree. Of course, one could argue that post-apocalyptic games depend very strongly on the whole survival theme, but heck, it would work pretty well for a medieval-themed rpg too. All these encampments settled by hunters and bandits in the wild could actually become important for you when sleeping would be required, making them useful for something else besides world building and creating an immersive gaming experience. It would even support the hunters found in the wild, needing to buy food ingredients from them. Places of water could be a source for drinking, maybe add a disease effect on dirty pools of water, just to add whole other layer to the game. A hardcoe mode that could be turned off could only improve the game immensely. Maybe, since this is a rpg, you could add special ideas, like needing to wear fancy clothes when entering a palace, needing to make an appointment to meet the jarl, would make the clothes also useful besides changing your appearance. Also, why not some extra perks that can be only unlocked in hardcoe, something like the strange wasteland perk that adds special dialoge options and quest options like that being able to get the stormcloak brother out of the thalmor prison after the war is over, little extras like that.
Things simple to code that would only enrich the whole roleplaying effect.
Also really happy to hear that spain also got the english edition, I really hope this means it will find its way on the other marketplaces, it's a simple marketing decision that greatly benefits people like me who always buy the original version of anything. I just hope it will be like this with the other DLCs.
...well, without all the delays that is.
