Most Moving Music

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 2:20 pm

That is beautiful. Michael Galasso, eh? I'll have to find more of his stuff.

Chances are you'll like a large amount of music in the film. This one is also great.

If you like them it's worth watching the film, In The Mood For Love, from which they're from. That and 2046. Haven't seen Days of Being Wild so I don't know how good that one is.

This is also a favourite. Years ago I tried to make a story with sound effects with this music. Wish I'd kept it :/

I can't link because I'm on my phone, but I would have to say "27" by M.I.A. It's about a friend who had a rough lifestyle and died at 27. She wasn't going to release it but then Amy Winehouse died at 27, so she decided to release it as a tribute to her and all the other musicians who died at that age. I actually can't listen to the words without tearing up :(
Didn't Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and many others die at 27? I find it unreal!

They used that music in narcissu 2nd side iirc. I ended up crying whil reading through that too. I think the playground scene was the worst for me, pretty sure that music was used. I think it was used in #1 when

. I think I now associate that song with depressing moments.

Yup, it's quite scary how many talented people have died at 27.

Without a doubt the most moving piece of music for me. If you are a fan of Persona 3 hearing this at the end is just infinitely beautiful.

And then there is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwyNRdAuEOk I really can't be certain if it's so sad for someone who hasn't watched Wolf's Rain but it kinda struck out to me while watching it because of how well it seems to depict the kind of thoughts the main character might have.

I generally don't find myself moved to tears by the "sadness" of music; if I'm getting close to that point, it's normally from just the sheer beauty of the thing. Yeah, sometimes it's in the typical heart-bursting swelling typical kind of sense of beauty like you might find in Joni Mitchell, Talk Talk, or Ravel, but sometimes I find that same supernatural beauty in the impossible intricacies of Magma, Gentle Giant, or Bartok.

Choices, choices...

Aww [censored] it, there's too much to pick from because music tends to be emotionally moving.

They're all special to me, either in beauty or emotional connections, and it's still too many songs, but it's been culled a large amount from the original list.

I'm afraid Gary Jules' version is one of my pet hates: I really liked http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDBA3jtJ-EA, though I admit probably because I grew up with that one being in the charts.
