Most ridiculous outfit in Skyrim?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 9:59 pm

It's in the title, folks. What's yours?

My choice is the Forsworn fur bikini. http://www.witchqueensia.com/gallery/d/54634-1/Skyrim051.jpg. At least, if you're going to go for the "wild, crazy, primitive natives" angle, make sure you treat the males the same way.

corr. That little furry bikini does it for me. Come here my little Breton honey. I'm getting me a ticket into High Rock.

They all don't really seem to fit into Skyrim very well. Nightingale especially, due to the Batman vibe it gives off.

To be fair to the Psijic's, their base isn't in Skyrim. The way they get to Skyrim doesn't really require a change of clothes.

I think the female Falmer armor is even stupider. Not only is it ridiculously skimpy, it has pointy bits sticking off of it. And my girls don't even look hot in it, IMO.

They actually did do it for the males. The skimpy version of the fur armor consists of a fur kilt. Girls get a tube top, but guys are topless. The hide armor doesn't cover much of the male's upper body either.

I laughed when I saw the Foresworn armor, but my Bosmer girl wore it a lot until she got Elven gear. At least the game doesn't have a chainmail bikini.

The forsworn armor's the best-looking in the game. It fits in the temperate Reach, though it's extreme in somewhere like Eastmarch or Hjaalmarch.

As far as silliest armor/outfit... Cicero's, for obvious reasons.

Lol you just like it because its revealing, jk, but really? I think it doesn't fit in, for the natives nonetheless. And, I think that the imperials roman vibe is much more significant then in oblivion, which is a little awkward, but I don't really mind.

The Psijic robes are more odd and ridiculous to the setting than just Skyrim itself.
When I first saw them I said to myself "ohhhh nooo, no, no, how could Bethesda do this?"
Because to me they greatly resembled the terrible Jedi Consular robes from the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO.

Ciccero's armor set is pretty ridiculous although the masque of Clavicus Vile takes the cake.

The Thalmor and the Psijic Order are from Alinor. The Nightingale Armor (which I am assuming to be Daedric in origin) is from Nocturnal's realm of Oblivion, Cicero is from Cyrodiil AND he's crazy...so those DON'T come from Skyrim. And the Nightingale armor is cool.

BUT I LOVE THAT

Keep your Batman: Arkham City out of my Skyrim.

But seriously, it's way too odd for Skyrim.
It's like Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood outfit, citizens would just gawk at you in the streets.
This is superficially bad for any thief of worth, so less attention is always better.

With that thought I've got to wonder if Nocturnal has a returns policy..

The point of being a thief is not to be seen. If you're a thief running around in the streets, you should find a new profession. :P

The forsworn fur bikini is fully feasible, for a stripjoint or the warm sands of elseweir. Makes me wonder what the males will get down there - maybe just a snakeskin to put da dingaling in? :D Seriously though, I must say I expected more inuit like clothing in the snowy and glacierish northern parts, where the "bikinis" where kinda restricted to "heated places" like maybe brothels and so on. Then again, it's fantasy, and I guess they had to use "explicit clothing" somewhere even if they couldn't make a good scenario for it. Besides, this is fantasy on Nirn, maybe it snows at 20°C/68°F there? So, I'd like more natural clothing, but frankly it doesn't bother me that much, only a little :P

I hadn't seen that yet. I don't... get it. It isn't protective, and it isn't sixy so... http://s3.amazonaws.com/data.tumblr.com/tumblr_lwiyxifkEK1qjz2uno2_1280.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJ6IHWSU3BX3X7X3Q&Expires=1327191400&Signature=OhTMBMoFY6VY5jdhHNx0A0qOKMw%3D?

They actually did do it for the males. The skimpy version of the fur armor consists of a fur kilt. Girls get a tube top, but guys are topless. The hide armor doesn't cover much of the male's upper body either.

I meant more from a lore perspective. Tribal communities that display their fitness/virility/fertility via physical appearance pretty much almost always have a tit (hah) for tat philosophy. Men would show off their powerful thighs, chest and arms; and women, their briasts, waist and thighs. This isn't so with the Forsworn males. All that the armour prominently displays is their arms. It doesn't make sense.

Now that you've reminded me there is a fur armour that bares the chest, I'll be adding it to my Forsworn mods. Thanks.

I laughed when I saw the Foresworn armor, but my Bosmer girl wore it a lot until she got Elven gear. At least the game doesn't have a chainmail bikini.

See, I could have firmly put that into the tongue-in-cheek category. The fur bikini...

Actually, no. It's more like the point of being a thief is not being noticed. There's a difference. Sometimes it just means blending in and remaining inconspicuous. A good pickpocket should be able to steal your coinpurse while looking you in the eyes. In something as flamboyant as the nightingale armor, you'll never be inconspicuous.

Actually, you need a fully-covering suit for Elsweyr, as much as I wish otherwise. The Reach is unseasonably warm, making the outfit less absurd than people make it out to be.

There's a loose pad of fur they wear over their chest to protect against thrusts. The sides are still bared, as is much of the chest and belly.

I already said that http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197988732882/screenshot/649876689769992010?tab=public. Not that i'm complaining... Whistling:

Realistically such armor would be pretty bad to wear in combat, it should be shaped more like the http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197988732882/screenshot/649876689731447461/?tab=public.

I've never seen an official weather report for the Reach, but to me, I get the impression that it's cold and damp. Not what I would consider good weather for a fur bikini.
