Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 1:30 am

Hello again and i'm here to day to make you aware not only do vampire lords make the best sneak bulids due to there extra sneak they also now offically make a huge difference in mage bulids, they can now legitly (not using glitches or loops) can get all types of magic schools for 0 magika via the shallow/shadow reagent and the aldzi-armour that makes enchaments 10% more powerful, They can also deal the highest form of damage with spells via the new masks that boost spell output damage, which your fellow nercomage perk increases

I have always doubted that using necromage to buff your enchantments can be qualified as legit. Was it really intended? Either way, nice to know.

This is making me consider playing a Dunmer vampire.

Edit: Wait does Necromage vampire improve Miraaks robes? I heard Necromage improves item stats.

If you are a necromage vampire the stuff that you are capable of making will make Miraak's robes look like something you would pick up at Goodwill.

No, I don't.

I assume you mean Ahzidal? (lol, aldzi...good information) if so, that only provides a 10+ enchanting bonus.

Does the necro mage perk effect items you had before you got the perk? Like if i get it necro mage now, will the damage boost from that new lighting dragon priest mask be better when I equip it?

The +10 bouns that you get from that and the +10 from the black books makes an enormous difference when you are doing the alchemy/enchanting loop.

Necromage is applied to any effects that are applied after the effect. Old perks have to be respeced, old armor has to be unequiped and and re-equiped, standing stones have to be reacquired, etc.

However, special effects aren't always boosted. It's hit and miss in that regard.

Is there a way to tell what it works on? Like will the effect in the effects menu be different? Or is it an invisible bonus?

Is there a list of what necro mage effects?

You can't always tell in the effects window. For example the lord stone will show +50 in the effects window. But if you look at your armor rating while naked it will show +62.

It all depends. Armor effects will display the buff. Special effects won't. Although the change WILL be reflected in the timer. For example, Dragon Aspect would appear to last 25% longer, but the actual stat bonuses should not show any difference. In reality, you should get:

31.25% damage bonus to power attacks.
125 armor
25% bonus time on Dragonborn summon
31.25% frost/fire resistance
25% fortify shout

However, only the initial values will display.

Some http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1385179-perks-affected-by-necromage-as-a-vampire/ are also affected.
Basically anything the game considers a spell cast on the PC.
Its a very enjoyable playstyle for me as I get 70 restoration first out of Riverwood, which leaves me very vulnerable to direct assault. (especially since I dont upgrade my health or stamina by more than five points.)
So, on the one hand I can easily get one-hitted, but on the other hand if they dont see me they will one-hit their friends and fall to my summons and poisons.

Vampire necromage has really been the only way I play Skyrim for at least six months.

A vampire is undead.
Necromage is a level 70 restoration perk that makes all your spells more powerful against undead.
And the PC is undead.

So anything the game considers a spell cast on the PC gets a flat-out boost.
This includes worn enchantments, shouts, potions, summon duration, some perks, blessings, a lot.
The downside of getting 70 restoration and vampirism early in the game is that you have a lot of weaknesses.
I enjoy these weaknesses and play around them but at higher levels its also possible to counter them with enchantments or potions.

It's a perk in the restoration tree. Normally, it's really crappy. It makes spells 25% more powerful against the undead. Vampires are undead. As such, any "spell" you apply to yourself is 25% more powerful. Potions, spells, enchants, perks, pretty much everything (perks don't always buff, however). That said, the sun's effects are also magnified. You have a 63 drop in health at stage 4 while in the sun, and (with Dawnguard) you have 63% weakness to fire. The good far outweighs the bad, however. For example, my character's health more than doubles in my VL transformation. My base stats are approximately 700 magicka, 300 health. In VL form, I get 1010 magicka, 800 health. A gigantic difference, to say the least.

Considering I have yet to have a playthrough where I dont find boots/ gloves/ amulets of fire resist early on.
Im tellin ya,
only way I play.

(When in trouble, sprint away and transform into a vampire lord. If you have Dawnguard.)

make sure you read a lot about it before hand. There are certain perks and abilities you want to get specifically before and after becoming a vampire and selecting necromage

Ah, but some of the old advice may have to be updated wrt Dragonborn. For instance, is it true that if you have Necromage, then cure and reacquire vampirism, you don't get the Necromage effects back? If so, the DB respec has a nice fix for that!

Now one of my chars can experiment with both vampirism *and* Necromage, back and forth practically on a whim, which fits his style. It'll make him feel like Neloth! (Now If only Necromage fixed vampire baldness too- having trouble with that part of the RP.)
