New Dawnguard information-Secrets of the Vampire.

I have a question if you join the vampires, will you still be able to have crossbows?
I am sure you can. You will be fighting NPC's who use crossbows, so they will work as any other lootable weapon.

darn, knew I should have saved some perk points. Hope there is the ability to re-spec in the future.
Use the Oghma Infinium glitch for a VERY fast level up.

Great new additions. I'm curious as to if the Werewolf and Vampire tree perks are already chosen just by being one or whether both require leveling up.

I don't think you can use them in the vampire-lord form.

Spoiler

-They are the Volkihar. His castle is named Castle Volkihar, which also can serve as a home for the player. As well as Castle Dawnguard.

Spoiler
Hope this doesn't turn out to be the case. The Volkihar are supposed to be living under the ice, not partying it up in castles. I want the Volkihar to be included, but not if they're totally unlike anything we've been told thus far.

It is true.

I got to level 81 but used up all the perk points as I didn't know there would be a new tree. Hopefully there is a way to get back some perk points.

For the vampire lord, it would appear you won't need to use perk points. You earn the perks for biting or draining life force, or at least that is how it is suggested to work.

The notion that we visit Dagon's plane (The Deadlands) Casts some doubt on this Info. I hope maybe this is just an example of cross-referenced information getting muddied by people who don't know the lore.

Essentially, Soul Cairn is a plain of Oblivion that belongs to no Daedric Prince. So I could see someone believing it's Dagon's Realm, Molag Bal's Realm, etc.

Everything else I hope is true, especially the new Enemies and the fact that Dawnguard is designed to eat up low-level players.

I have been around the web, searching, prowling. I came across secrets of the Dawnguard DLC. Secretive secrets that few eyes have beheld. I will release some of these concealed information by using spoiler tags.

Biggest spoiler:

Spoiler
Gotcha!
.

Spoiler

-There will be new dragons to fight that will be tougher for the player.

-There will be a Lycanthropy tree with new powers, including the "Totem of the Moon" which shall allow werewolves to summon up other fellow werewolves. There is one called "Savage feeding" and "Animal vigor".

-The vampire Lord is named Harkon.

-They are the Volkihar. His castle is named Castle Volkihar, which also can serve as a home for the player. As well as Castle Dawnguard.

-Harkon attempts to put an end to the sun using the ancient Elder Scrolls.

-We shall make a return to the "Soul Cairn", a realm of the dead seen in Battlespire. We shall also visit a Realm of Oblivion(unknown).

-There will be a new vampiric power where you suspend a foe in the air and drain them(seen in the trailer).

-The Vampire Lord transformation is gained by completing quests, as the companions.

-There will be a new facial transformation feature to modify your face. Race change is not in the game, but players shall now be able to change their appearance.

-Dawnguard is NOT meant for low-level players.

-We shall revisit Mehrune's plane.

-New enemies such as Armored trolls, death hounds and legendary dragons.

Meh most of this I kind of figured would be in the game. Its been speculated amongst us for a good while now. However, the legendary dragons I'm guessing can dive into the lakes now.

Yeah. Its funny because the light from the camera was shining on the words, but it said we will return to a plane of Oblivion we constantly visited in Elder Scrolls: IV. It can only be Mehrune's plane.

I'm more interested in Soul Cairn and the Ideal masters. Did the gameinformer mention them?

Until I can see complete confirmation and whatnot, I'm going to lie to myself and say that the castle is named after the original Volkihar, but inhabited by a different strain of vampires after the Volikihar decided that living in castles wasn't really their thing anymore/they were run out of town.

I know the odds of this being the case are slim to none, but I really hope this is the case.

So what, if there are new dragons does that mean you have to start the main quest to do the DLC? :\

Let me quote it:

"Your quests for Dawnguard and the vampires will take you to several locations, and one of them is(light shines on the word, making it obscured), the plane player visited multiple times in Elder Scrolls IV. Unlike the fiery fields(light again obscured the information from the scan).

We are returning to Mehrune's Realm. Fact.

No one can run from their destiny forever. Sooner or later you're going to have to accept what you really are.
