So is it only an initial payment or do we have to pay EVERY time we want to go in? I really really hope not that would be ridiculous. I wonder what item would allow you in that's weird? And can't you just take the guards out? If you are a high level character with sick weaponry I don't see why not?

It doesn't say. I would think it's only a one time payment. Or maybe you get the passport when you go in? I would just go read the article. It's pretty clear when it's about to talk about that quest (it's only what you do in a sidequest anyway), and the neat little things it does tell you probably outweigh that.

Yeah, I edited my post explaining that.

Yeah, sorry. When I first clicked on this thread, the last post was the one I responded to, but after reading all the posts and responding to that one post, along with visiting other sites, all those other posts were made.

The 2000 caps req is probably just a minimum that you need to have on you so that you can actually contribute to the strip by using it, so you would have to have 2000 caps, but don't actually have to pay it as a fee to enter.

They should have a number of ways to get the passport, honestly. Whether it be through a quest, a series of quests, or finding one.

Maybe even a counterfeiting company.

That's a good point. They wouldn't want any poor squatters or freeloaders entering the strip.

Kind of like getting into Vault City in Fallout 2. You could buy a fake passport and then either get in or turn in the guy who sold you the passport...or you could tell the guy you'd turn him in unless he gave you your money back.

Damn I love Fallout 2. I really should buy it again and download one of those Restoration Packs.

Why can't October come sooner!?!?!?!?!?! At this point football is the only thing keeping me occupied before New Vegas comes out. Only 68 more days to go until I drop off the face of the Earth and melt my brain with some sweet sweet Fallout.

There is a fan-made mod for FO2 that restores a lot of the cut content of Fallout 2. It's a must-get if you are playing FO2.

Sure going through all that trouble and you find out can just get a free pass by just wearing your vault 13 suit.

Fallout 2 was very much rushed out, completed in less than a year. In fact because it had to be restarted during development it was made in less than 8 months. Therefore there was some stuff that was unfinished and thus taken out before release.

Restoration Packs restore what was taken out.

Reply to Dustin,

Guess who didn't have a guide to know that, and who had long since abandoned his V13 suit.

I didn't know you could say dike, err...uhh...I mean...One needs to be careful when observing foreign peoples that he does not judge them by his own cultures standards. Yeah....that's what I meant to say, I'm mature and stuff. Yeah.

Neither did I until later , always the simple solution is overlooked, though the vault suit is your default form without armor (unless you skipped the Temple and stayed in tribal form) so I don't think you were able get rid of it.

I played the game in Leather and then Combat Armor. I hated Metal and never did anything with Power Armor until my traditional Wasteland Genocide at the end of the game. Genocide may not be the right word though since I killed everyone rather than only one race.

That's how I roll. Jump in with both feet and make decisions by the seat of my pants, or however the expression goes.

I won't even look at a walkthrough/strategy guide until I start a new character, which is usually after I not only beat all the quests, but run around in the wasteland looking for stuff for a couple weeks.

haven't watched it yet. That may be "Followers of the Apocalypse" though. Arcade Gannon is one of them, he was in Van Buren too.

Do hope Sawyer is stepping carefully around religion. They got away with making fun of scientology back in fo2 because, let's face it, pc gaming was mostly off the radar for those guys back then. Now that the franchise is mainstream and multi-platform...

Mormons weren't really treated badly in Van Buren. There was a Mormon Town that hated the Mormon guy who left to found CL.

Unlike many other pre-war religions, groups of Mormons still survive in the Wasteland, mostly in the area that used to be known as the state of Utah. Though truly brutal groups like Caesar's Legion will not hesitate to enslave or kill Mormons, most tribals and other organizations leave the Mormons alone, knowing that they often will voluntarily give medical or other aid to groups who need it. The people tolerate the Mormons’ preaching because finding help with relatively benign conditions is rare.

There are three known Mormon settlements:

* New Jerusalem, destroyed in 2233 (New Canaan design document plot line).
* New Canaan and small camp near Jericho (depends on design document).
