Spoiler
The head of the Kings faction has a pet dog. Or, he had a pet dog. Now he has a robo-puppy with a dog's brain sitting in a jar on its head = could be K-9? probably not but similar to him.

I am very angry that they put a link to an old preview in a new interview.

We need a sacrificial lamb to go to such links and spoil the game for themselves and then to return and spoon feed us the bits of information that aren't soaked in spoiler sauce.

I'll do it. Surprises are nice, but I'm happy just playing the game.

Yes.

Also, the inteviewer brings up a good point about framerate issues and AI (especially pathfinding). I'm not worried about the former but the latter scares me a bit. Anyway, all it relieved were some sidequests, some more about the factions and how to get into the strip. Also some bit of the MQ involving Vegas Vic.

one cause for unstable framerate would be more npcs running around, I could live with that

Uh oh...

"Fallout: New Vegas is due out October 19, and I hope Obsidian has the chance to put a bit more polish on it before shipping it out. The portion of the game I played frequently had issues with maintaining a stable framerate, and the AI quite often had problems quickly finding the best path while moving. These aren't particularly new issues to those that have played Fallout 3, and the game still works as you'd expect, but I still remain ever hopeful for an improved experience."

This is not good. I hope the final game isn't a mess...

One does not simply walk into the strip.

The outskirts of New Vegas are controlled by gangs. The Kings are at odds with the NCR.

Merchants only carry a couple of hundred caps.

You can do quests for the Followers of the apocalypse.

The leader of the Kings has a pet.

What?

The article gave three options. You can't just walk right into the strip no questions asked. It's guarded. You can buy your way in, pass a skill/speech check, or you can get in with a certain item.

Sorry if I'm not being that clear. It's hard deciding what is or isn't a spoiler that you guys wouldn't want to see :[

Look again (actually, that's what I was going for but I put one cannot just, instead of one does not. :[)

Honestly, the article isn't that full of spoilers. At least not major spoilers. It only tells us what one of the quests is, and talks about a pet of one of the leaders. To be honest, it would be pretty neat being surprised by that pet, but it's no big deal. It also describes a bit of Vegas outside of the strip. I guess it's all up to what kind of spoiler you don't like. Big, game changing spoilers, or small ones that you'll probably think are cool when you see them in game, and then shrug them off a few minutes later.

Hmmm... I suppose it makes sense that they don't just let anyone in. You have to prove yourself worthy. Though I am curious: The E3 previews showed a lot of NCR officers in the strip, so if I develop high rep with them maybe they will let you in.

What?

In the link, you have to either have 2000 caps, a passport, or a high enough science skill to convince the many robots to let you through.

That's right, I read the thing. Trust me, it can hardly be called a spoiler in there, but you can avoid looking in there if you want, just in case it's more of a spoiler to you than it was to me.

So is it only an initial payment or do we have to pay EVERY time we want to go in? I really really hope not that would be ridiculous. I wonder what item would allow you in that's weird? And can't you just take the guards out? If you are a high level character with sick weaponry I don't see why not?
