The Followers could be New Vegas' version of the Westins, the only family let alive in New Reno

Pretty sure that by "The Followers" he meant Followers of the Apocalypse. Why else would they be helping addicts?

We'll just need some confirmation on the followers then, since it came from an ign editor it's hard to tell if he meant the FotA

Working to get into the Strip?

Sounds great.

No it's more like you need to pay to get in or you can use your science skill or you can have a passport. Honestly, getting the passport seems more interesting as it's likely that getting a passport will allow more ways to get into the Strip.

Damn, I'm having Vault City flashbacks. *twitch* The DAY pass is only valid in the DAY *twitch*

Good times, good times. I loved ripping that place to pieces when I was done.

I wonder if I'll enjoy anything in New Vegas as much as I enjoyed clearing out Vault City in Fallout 2. It's a different kind of feeling in Turn Based than it is in Real Time.

Also I don't know if Fallout New Vegas will have the Shotgun Burst death animation...but I doubt it.

Meh, this really doesn't come as a surprise to me -- I think it makes sense. In fact, I like the idea 'cos we actually have to do some work to get there.

And, I'm so tempted to read the rest of the article... must... resist. Ugh. It's so hard. :(

It's true, I went ahead and read it. If you've been reading the threads in this forum there is nothing there you haven't already heard.

Bah, screw it then. *Dives into the preview*

Have there been any new videos yet, seeing as they've had the demo at Quakecon?

There's a small 45 second clip in the Quakecon speculation thread. It has a Tommy Gun-ish weapon in it. The animations are kind of sloppy with it, but I think it's a WIP.

Ehhh Kinda, a bad 'used a camcorder to record facing the tv' style vid of a New Vegas demo, qualitys shoddy at best, but it DOES show some of Freeside District and it shows New Vegas seems very detailed as a city.

Okay, thanks, guys! I'll check it out. And I'm disappointed that the IGN journalists decided to go around killing things. Really, you're working for a big company, so you could do something a little bit more imaginative, that actually tells us something about the game. <_<

Ah, well, still a pretty cool preview anyway. I'm starting to think the Kings aren't total pushovers. And that dog sounds hilarious.

I'm starting to think that maybe Vegas will be DC sized with the strip being similar is size to the Mall. That would be perfect. I wonder what other districts there are besides Freeside.

If that's the case, I will have a major nerdgasm.

And, urr, well, can someone give me the link to the video? I Googled it and checked YouTube but can't find anything.

Nice, thanks, buddy! That short video is actually pretty good. Freeside is bloody huge! And does anyone agree that the Lucky 38 looks really cool in the background?

And what the hell was that gun?

The Lucky 38 does look cool, but the game play vids make me die inside. 68 days left to wait. GRAAAAAAH

I know, I know. It hurts to watch them, but it's so hard to resist. :( Thing is, I've got like, 6 weeks off now so I'm just sitting around waiting. Thankfully, I have got back into Fallout 3 with a new character, so that might help a little...

And does anyone think the Victor will be a fully-fledged companion? It seems appropriate.
